Makes no difference who the manager is, the point is are the players allowed to play the kind of exciting football we all wanted. Robinson, Harris and O`Dowda in attack score 3 in 45 minutes then O`Dowda and Robinson are taken off and we scrape 3-2, now if we can all see the folly in that it is not asking much for a manager to see it too. Playing Watters for 8 games instead of Harris was a masterstroke we could have done without. Right now we need to win anyway we can, this is the championship not a playstation game.
I dont think even our useless ownership and board were expecting promotion. Saying that. All our issues come from the shambolic board and ownership. Lets back Hudson all we can do.
My view is that Colwill could ultimately make a superb no.9. However, to date, or managers do not see that.
Whoever is in charge will get our backing. Hudson had been placed in charge, he didn't apply for it but it was handed to him. He can only do his best. Who knows, perhaps it'll be good enough
Not convinced Hudson is the right bloke for us, but anyone who doesn't want him to succeed in the job must have a screw loose. He has to be given full support by the fanbase for as long as he's in the position, otherwise he should have gone with Morison.
Dyche will not be the next City manager. Several reasons: 1. He is waiting for the next PL/established Championship opening 2. He wouldn’t want to be at a club who have a pattern of ditching managers and run by a board like ours 3. He wouldn’t be impressed by our squad 4. His wages would be far too high for a club who successively appoint managers in the cheap
Well Cardiff are established having won two promotions and finished as champions once. We have sacked managers who proved they could not do the job and we expect the next manager to win games. Our squad is fine as shown in the games against Norwich and Middlesbrough first half. I can assure you Warnock does not come cheap, you do not pay top money for second rate managers given a chance they should pay us.
.....v Millwall, Preston, Luton, the 2nd half at Boro and the whole game at Huddersfield? A manager needs to get consistent performances not the odd game here and there.
Dyche worked with what he had at Burnley and for a good length of time done a good job. At championship level we have a good team if played correctly, I think Dyche could do that, he works with what he has to the best of their ability and that will suit.
It would be difficult to argue with anything that you've said. However, for me it's not about whether or not he could do a good job for us but more about him not being interested. Money would probably be one issue but our recent history of hire and fire doesn't paint us in the most positive of light. Also think he'd want more autonomy than the board would allow Oh god. I went back to being Mr Negative! Your fault SBFF
You're most probably right in your assessment Clingo, certainly in regards to money, but you can never tell, depends on how much Tan wants it.
I think Tan wants success and I've never doubted that about him but, and forgive my negativity again, I think his board want it too and very quickly. Unfortunately, they don't seem able to see the big picture and their record is getting expensive monetarily and in terms of reputation. Gawd. I'm like a broken record. Miserable git that I am.
Recent history suggests Tan doesn’t want to spend money on expensive high profile managers - I suppose Dyche falls into that bracket. By way of example Trollop, Slade, Harris, Morison would have been on relatively low wages as presumably is Hudson. OGS, Warnock and McCarthy probably not.
Another hat in the ring is possibly Rob Edwards today sacked by Watford (as our also on the championship thread)
If he has had a good pay off from Sackford then he might not be looking for a big wage, a. if we wanted him. b. if he fancied a challenge. c. if he is good enough.
Only proven at a level two rungs below the championship. Probably one for the future but so was Morison. Too big a leap for Edwards in my opinion.
Edwards given 11 games..... Just WTF do clubs expect these days???? I know people moan about clueless armchair fans and the fact that many think management of a football club is just like computer games/simulations such as Championship Manager, but I'm beginning to worry that many club owners think the same.... At this rate we'll end up with a bunch of 15 year old school kids running teams from their bedrooms in between doing their English and Maths homework... We could always see if Mark Robins fancies a different CCFC?? (Sorry Robbie)...
