A few friends have asked me how much is the Queens funeral costing and how much the government is paying as opposed to the Monarchy?

I’ve asked the question here, thinking that the government/ tax payer is footing the majority of it?

l have no qualms either way, l was just interested.

    50 million pounds?

Tory politicians and Brexiteers won't go on his show any more because he shows up the hollowness of their arguments. They prefer to go on GBeebies and have their tummies tickled.

Here's an example of what you'd probably call a 'Gotcha' conversation with an 'anti-woke' caller......

It seems to me that O'Brien is remarkably gentle with the fella, who just winds up making a fool of himself.

The caller has an I.Q. Of 3. He's so bad, it almost sounds like a set up. Anyway, Jobbies people will have singled him out as a victim for Jobbie. So what? If he'd had a debate with someone with an intellect, it would have been interesting.

It's all politicians that avoid him, with occasional exception of Corbinites. Most Jobbie supporters live in their own little sycophantic vacuum.

Again you betray your ignorance. Corbynites hate him, because he's spoken out against Corbyn.

I was thinking of such luminaries as Lily Allen and Gary Lineker who he's had on. His guest list is utterly woeful.

Why do you think that is?

This is a very good example of a condescending prick interviewing a moron.

I've already told you why Tories and Brexiteers (including yourself seemingly) prefer to avoid him. It's because he shows up the emptiness of their arguments. They prefer GBeebies, or even the BBC, where they know they're protected from any hint of critical argument.

How could someone not sound condescending towards a moron? I can't quite believe that call to the radio station. Hilarious. Are they all like that?

Every post you make on this subject betrays the fact that you know nothing about it.

Just looked up the oath of allegiance as pledged by our armed forces. Those on here who have served will of course remember it.

"I swear by almighty God that I will be faithful, and bear true allegiance to his Majesty King Charles III, his heirs and successors, and that I will as in duty bound, honestly and faithfully defend his Majesty, his heirs and successors in person, crown and dignity, against all enemies, and will observe and obey all orders of His Majesty, his heirs and successors and the generals and officers set over me."

Interesting that there is zero mention of country in there, which I wasn’t aware of. I suppose it dates back to when the monarch was literally the embodiment of the state. Doubt it’s important but it’s seems a bit incongruous nowadays, perhaps an oath to King and Country would make more sense.
