I can't believe we didn't even scout him!

Anyone else noticed that we haven't scored at the Loft End this season? Which is quite weird as we always expect a goal in the second half attacking the home end. The last time we scored at the loft ( Luke Amos ) was back in April v Derby.

Next 2 games will tell us alot, 2 seriously hard fixtures. Where are we up to on the Dykes/ Roberts/ Bonne goalscoring chart. I predicted we'd do well to get 10 out of them combined. Still on 1 !

We've already proved we can beat top teams and lose to teams we should on paper have a better chance of beating. It'll definitely be nice to get some points from these two though.

Dykes has scored 9 and 12 in the two previous seasons and had barren spells in both, I've no doubt he'll get similar again. Bonne, we've no idea how much he's going to figure but agreed the jury is definitely still out on Roberts scoring abilities. I'm certain we'll get more than 10 from them combined though.

The top row of the loft were we aware of that fact.

We believe there is a force wall around the goal...which is why Dykes made that awful miss from 3 yards out

I thought it was an even and fairly boring first half. To his credit, Beale changed the formation at half-time and we were better for it. Other than the half-time change, I thought he was late bringing on the substitutes (77th minute), if only because we needed some fresh legs on. I haven't seen the replay but from SA Road B Block, their late penalty shout looked reasonable... I've seen them given. Overall, we created the better chances in the second half and, with a finisher on the pitch, we would have won but I can't complain too much about a draw.

For us, Laird and - of course - Chair and Willock looked good, although the latter two probably weren't at their very best. For the rest of the team, I thought we were generally workmanlike without being inspired or particularly energetic. I have read some very positive reports on Paal but I thought he struggled a bit defensively, particularly in the first half and, for a while, it seemed like they were targeting him. For me, Roberts was a mixture of good and bad but at no time did he look like a centre forward. In fact, dare I say it, Dykes was probably one of the reasons we were better in the second half.

I'm happy with where we are but I do still wish we could have afforded a convincing, goal-scoring front man in the window. I suspect Mick Beale feels the same.
