Maybe that's the case Bluey - but it's all about opinions on here. <ok>

I think Morison saw McGuinness as an accident waiting to happen and plumped for sending him out to get it out of his system.

Nelson can do a job and has proved it. He blotted his copy book early this season but he put his body on the line last year and was instrumental in keeping us up.

I must have been watching someone else.

True Sparks but if McGuinness was an accident waiting to happen, Nelson was a car crash with fatalities for a couple of games hence his banishment from the squad for a few games.

Many on here, including me, were prepared to give him a one way ticket to nowhere.

If we look back over a couple of years I think he has a bit of history in doing this then comes back, gets his arse in gear and performs well again.

If he can cut out the errors then he is a useful defensive squad member if lacking an ability to play forward constructively.

Saturday's selection will be interesting.

Given how effective we were in the first half and with udders in disarray, I can see him going 3 at the back.
Saying that, wouldnt be too unhappy if he went 4231 again.
Just needs to get his bench right.

Would be nice to get another win before the international break.

SM was saying there aren't too many away this break, so will give him a bit more time on the training paddock.
Think it's Harris, Colwill and O'D that will be missing.

The LWB role should be Bagan or O Dowda.

I thought it was the right decision to loan out MacGuiness. In hindsight it was wrong and id recall him in January.

I agree it was the right decision at the time, but you can't say it was wrong now.

Pre-season and the first 9 league and cup games since, Morison's chosen option was to play 4 at the back with Kipre and Ng in the middle other than when NG got banned. With Simpson coming in, it looked like we didn't need one of Denham, Nelson or McGuinness. A loan out for error prone McGuinness to get some of his rawness sorted was the correct choice at the time.

It now seems that despite his ability to play out, Ng's lack of aerial ability is being seen as an issue and a back 3 could be the way forward. In that case I agree, the options that McGuinness would offer is well worth recalling him in January. God forbid that Kipre in particular or even Simpson pick up a knock that keeps them out - still say Nelson has a big part to play until then.

No he’s not good enough - his passing and control in particular

Funny thing is I see Ng and Tom Sang very similar in stature, style and appearance (not referring to their ethnicity).

Perry has had his chance in his chosen position and taken it, but Sang has struggled to make the breakthrough. Like to see him get some game time - maybe instead of Sawyers who's looked well off the pace recently despite his two goals. With Wintle and Rhino holding, Ng and Sang through the middle could well make the bullets for Robinson and Harris - and dare I say it even Watters?

A tricky time for SM.
With so many changes to the squad, he needs to get a base team and style.
Only then can he start his tinkering.
Tinkering on solid foundations is one thing.
Tinkering on sand is folly.

I agree that Sawyers needs to be rotated out, at least in the short term.
Colwill may be the answer, or, as you suggest sparkey, Sang.
As a front 4, O'D and Ojo/Philogene either side of Colwill/ Sang with Robinson up front would show attacking intent.

Looking forward to getting Adams into the mix in centre midfield.

Glad someone’s mentioned Sang as I have been banging his drum before. I’m far from convinced in Sawyers, who to me looks disinterested and too ponderous.
