Can't emphasis how big a result this is for TM. Striker problems with Simms going off, following on from the Boro defeat a defeat would have put real pressure on both the manager and his young squad. To be leaving Reading with that performance behind them must have had our dressing room bouncing. Players have alluded to the good feelings and attitudes within the squad and that was blatantly obvious tonight. Football is like walking a tightrope for managers, a few bad results and the knives are out. Just pleased we have an experienced, level headed guy who won't get too carried away tonight.HTL
Just the 2500 down at Reading for a 500 mile round trip on a Wednesday night .......aye its SAFC selling it out.
I don’t want to get too carried away. That was a bizarre performance from reading. Even two minutes in you could see they were going to make it easy for us to get on the ball. Our third goal was probably the best goal I can remember us scoring. But that reading performance was probably the worst performance from a home opponent I can remember
We have got some very very good footballers in our squad. Arguably, some would be at the PL relegated clubs. But, the difference is, they get a game here and sit on the bench or worse at those teams.
After 30 mins something clicked, the whole team on the same wavelength and enjoying themselves, and this squad is so young and have the potential to get even better. That 3rd goal…….
A lot of the Reading twitterers harping on about Shane Long. Obviously forgetting were without our top scorer and our second top scorer got injured before a goal was scored!
Wouldn't have mattered if they had Haaland upfront, they created nothing and we gave them nothing. Very weak performance from them.
Fook sake I missed this. Apologies lads. Finished 12hr nights wed morning. Went to bed and got up and went straight to caravan down the coast. Got mixed up with days and I think I'm gerrin old and senile. My lad txt me , "3-0 lol". I thought we'd lost. Oh what fooking joy when I checked the scores
