I don't think mine have any plans to go on the Indonesian equivalent of Get me Out of Here but I can ask if you are interested. They actually came out of the jungle to come to Jakarta to work in the first place.

Is it right that they decided not to use the Royal Train to bring her coffin back to London because they were worried you bastards would probably be on strike again?

    I made it up.

Although one of the papers had this.

After discussions from transport bosses, it is thought the Queen's coffin will be flown from Edinburgh down to London. This is different to previous plans which assumed her coffin would be taken by train if she died in Scotland. The previous plan - Operation Unicorn - outlined what would happen if the Queen died at her Scottish residence of Balmoral. Her coffin was outlined to lie in repose at the Palace of Holyrood in Edinburgh before going to St Giles cathedral.
After that, a Royal Train would transport her body down to London via the East Coast Mainline. This route goes through several Yorkshire stations - including Northallerton, Doncaster and York. This would've given mourners the chance to watch her body go past and lay tributes, but if the Queen's coffin is flown as is now thought - it will now not pass through Yorkshire.

It may not have been the strike action that changed their plan - It may just have been that they couldn't rely on British Rail getting it there in time.

Don’t see a contradiction there tbh. Nobody in France is clawing for a restoration of the Bourbon dynasty. They just rinse tourists, which is what we should do as well without having a monarchy.

I don't see any contradiction either. I just liked the fact Versailles was mentioned and how that was the palace that was stormed to remove Louis and Antoinette and millions go to visit it. And why wouldn't they? It's actually a reason for visiting it. We could do the same with Buck Palace. Rinse those yanks I say.

And if we bury the royals in Buck Palace like in the Taj Mahal, we could double the numbers as well :emoticon-0148-yes:

Well there’s currently 2000 unfilled vacancies for frontline maintenance staff at Network Rail, and no plans to recruit against them, so the network is not in the best of health. That’s part of the reason we were striking in the first place.

Perhaps if they could find a unicorn to pull the train…

I wonder if Ipatiev House gets many tourists, or if it’s open to tourists at all. Pretty morbid I’d imagine.

Is that where they killed the Tsar’s family? If it was open as a tourist attraction, you can bet it would. Auschwitz gets millions of visitors a year. Don’t suppose they sell many T- Shirts though.

China made the odd decision of keeping the emperor and his family alive after the Communists rose to power, but destroying most of the palaces, artefacts and landmarks during the Cultural Revolution. The last emperor of China was sent to prison for a few years, ‘re-educated’ then became a convert to Marxist-Leninist-Maoism <laugh>

More than three million people of Islamic faith live in Britain, and many others are spread across nations with ties to the UK.

Though the British Monarch traditionally serves as the head of the Church of England, the Queen was noted for her engagement with Muslim communities in the UK.

She was the first royal to visit a mosque in the UK, according to Zara Mohammed, secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain.

"We at the Muslim Council of Britain remember how the Queen devoted her life to public service and sought unity among British communities," she told R4 Sunday.

That legacy of engagement appears poised to continued under the new Monarch, King Charles III.

The King has long been an advocate of interfaith dialogue, remarking in a 1993 speech that he "wholeheartedly" believed that links between the Christian and Islamic worlds mattered greatly, "because the need for the two to live and work together in our increasingly interdependent world has never been greater".

According to the Cambridge Central Mosque, the King has studied Arabic to understand the Koran.

As Ben Judah of the Atlantic Council, a think tank, noted, the King has traditionally gives a speech welcoming the Muslim festival of Eid each year, is a patron of the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies and has spoken frequently of the learning from Islam.

I think Prince Charles won a silver award for designing an Islamic garden at the Chelsea flower show as well. Or did he award a silver award? Fck knows, but worth a mention. He likes his Islamic stuff.
