It's a funny old game is football.
Had we won Monday night TM would be lauded by one and all, back to back winning start, top six and every body ( well nearly everybody) thinking our new manager was the dogs gonads, instead half our team decide not to turn up, they score in the scheme of things a scruffy goal and in the eyes of some it all turns to rat sh1t.
Not to mention losing our top two performers for God knows how long.
Who'd be a football manager...just ask Mr Tuchel.
While watching the Chelsea game last night I said to me m8 something not right a lot of them didn’t look happy in the slightest, the same with Maddison for Leicester on Sunday just didn’t seem happy

Back working today and most Boro lads saying they were impressed with us, thought we played well. Confused at that mind, thought we were ****e personally.

Yeah my Boro mates said the same. Maybe we are watching different games within games!!
Or our fans are really hard to please......
I actually thought first half our passing was abysmal, but had Pritchard scored we would have gone on and won that game imo.
Patto made a few regulation saves for all their efforts, the goal was no more than fortunate, we just couldn't pick a pass in the final third second half.
To say TMs plans were scuppered just before KO is an understatement, but it's all water under the bridge now and we move on and see how we cope against Millwall.

I thought they were taking the piss at first and they couldn’t believe it’s probably our worst performance for months…

I suppose we fought pretty well even if we were miles off playing our usual game going forward. If our defensive core was less focused we'd have conceded a couple more so we did well in that sense. On the ball we were ****e apart from the move leading to Pritchard's chance.

I suppose it’s all about how you look at it. Clarke had 4 or 5 poor crosses. On Wednesday he got them right and we scored from those. So we must have been doing something right to have got there.

Pritch <doh>

It was an absolutely shocking miss, probably one of the worst of his career. Imagine if he was from Middlesbrough - how many of our fan base would have decided that it "must be deliberate" because he couldn't miss that badly otherwise? He'd be a boo boy already on the internet.

He had that much time, he could of sat on the ball and had a cuppa while he decided which corner of the net to put the ball in<laugh>

What got little attention was the interplay between Simms and Roberts putting him clean through, if that chance came 10 minutes later I'd put my house on him scoring.

My son reckons he only did it as he wanted the worldy. First time top corner shot which looks awesome. Instead of the easy thing. To be fair, I don’t mind a lad having that confidence in himself. But I still wish he’d assessed his options! Was a great ball from Simms which shouldn’t be undersold

This for me, we move on...

Mowbray mentioned it in his post match interview, he said Prichard tried to bend it in the top corner like he does 9 times out of 10 in training. That worries me because it sounds like they are practicing worldies instead of putting their laces through it and hitting the target

I always go in early and watch our warm up and the shooting practice at the end of the warm up is normally rubbish with a high percentage of shots hitting row 14 in the North Stand.

It’s not hard to see why our shots to shots on target ratio in games is always low, don’t try to be fancy in front of goal just hit the target and goals will come.

Rotten miss by Pritchard that mind.
He could pass that low to the keepers right hand.
So much of the goal for him to hit rather than too bin.

I've often laughed at their poor practice shots when at the match early, some of them are quite embarrassing...
