Klopp has PROMISED us a champions league final. PROMISED US. so i reckon that's good enough for me.

Not sure how actual depressed anyone actually is bar its a bit of a struggling start.

We got our 2 forward buys to replace 3 going out.
    We net spent 13mil
We sent 17 players on loan.
We bought or loaned in every position people wanted in may. RB, CM, CF, wide forward.

The team looks a bit poor in terms of energy but at least we've now started the campaign off and we did fight hard for the points we scraped up.

Went for total nightmare as relegation wasn't an explicit option.

I don't see an option for 5th place and Europey next year.

It's not exactly nightmare, but I don't see us winning anything or qualifying for Champions League either.

Earlier in the summer on a poll, I suggested 4th was realistic this year, but after a poor start I'm revising us downwards to 5th.

I went for fifth in that thing we did and I think that will be about right but think we can win a cup if we can hang in a tournament till after new year

It's impossible to predict cups. Sure, we have as good as chance as anyone, but I'd never predict this early that we will win one.

Meh. Not depressed. We are performing like I expected to. I'll be depressed if we don't make big changes over the next few windows... But I see this seasons results as inevitable of the generation change .

There appears to be too many issues at the moment:

    1) lack of intensity. We’re getting out run and out sprinted by every team we have played this season

    2) injuries. 1 and 2 could both be linked to poor pre season prep which is now driven by the new AI software.

    3) Tactical mess - who the eff thought it would be a good idea to make Mo stick to the right wing touch line and not get into the box? Our best attacker. Makes no sense. Trying to accommodate Darwin but with injuries, it’s more difficult to do.

    4) lack of quality midfield options. In reality, we’re only missing Thiago, which is disgraceful because we knew he is injury prone. Hopefully Arthur can fill the void and rotate, we really need that base in midfield. I love Harvey and think he’s been our best player but is he hampering that right side with Mo and Trent

    5) we have a lack of creativity - our full backs and Thisgo were the main source. Robbo has been underperforming for some time but Trent is now trying Hollywood passes every single time.

on 4. whisper it round here mate.

I think you have a point there cos a left footed player on the right side goes infield. he is not able to find salah as quickly as others might. I think putting him on left side would open up the whole thing.

I doubt we will see this tactical switch.

I'd like to now see us thing about the new mode of getting the best out of these players. Mane fimrino and salah suited a 433 with fluidity, one where the CMs were made be donkeys to release the two fullbacks to bomb on. Windy locked down the left for robertson. hederson did lock down the right for trent.

this system is gone. diaz, nunez and salah are the forwards now. the midfields changed. we need to find the best way to play threse guys so they can find the half spaces

The common denominator here (who hasn't had a mention) seems to be Klopp.
He picks the team and the players you buy, he decides the way/system you are going to play and he is responsible for the training and fitness of the squad.
Has he tried to be clever and change things too much in an attempt to throw the opposition off or has he chosen the wrong players for how he want's to play now?

TBF another 5 games could make a massive difference if he is just getting players used to a change of system but if you stay the same for a few games after then there is a problem.

Its linders mate. You should read his book intensity.

It explains how lenders has personally done everything good at anfield.

Seriously though the problem is fairly obvious in terms of not playing quick enough and not seeing intelligent runs.

the last man I’d keep would be Klopp. Even Gary Neville knows it <whistle>
