every window i find myself posting this...

the lads post what they hear in good faith, up to the reader if they want to accept it as gospel (a bad idea) or take it as it was meant, as a little information that something/someone good is going to happen/come to the club (a better idea) or just ignore it altogether (this is the hardest to do) if it goes t1ts up as many tend to do then it is hardly the fault of the lad(s) that posted the info and if they are indeed trying to enter the RAOS then they will soon be found out as many have.

already mentioned and a prime example of a 'signed and sealed transfer' going wrong was the player leeds were tweeting had joined them, only for the lad (who was actually on the plane ready to fly over iirc) to suddenly decide he wanted to try a different club only for that to then go t1ts up...a strange one as that was two clubs he was a 'dead cert' to join both ended up not getting him.

personally i take all snippets in good faith but i do not hang every hope on every word that is spoken then feel i have to try to 'out' the posters as liars, because i am old enough and daft enough to realise that not everything that is started in football reaches a satisfactory end especially transfers and that things do go wrong, just as they do in daily life.

The performances against Norwich and Rotherham are testament to how happy the players are here and how quickly they've got over the loss of their previous manager.

Can’t disagree with that one bit. The desire, hunger and will to win on Wednesday was brilliant to see. Probably the best team performance I’ve seen at the SoL in 7 or 8 years.

Superb and can’t wait for the next game to watch these lads again. Been going since 1976 and this is a great bunch of committed players imo. It’s all we ask.

Maybe the players, like many fans, initially were disappointed....then, like many fans, just thought "**** him, the two faced twat".
    Or words to that effect.

Why would anyone have a gripe with Speakman? It baffles me. The bloke is working within a model, being told how much he can spend etc and is pulling it out of the bag pretty much every window. What are people expecting him to do? Pull world class players out of his arse and get them to play for the club for nout?

What’s with the attack? Prehab has passed loads of info on that’s been bang on, not everything will come off but that’s life, getting a few whoppers over here at the minute and won’t take a genius to work out where they’re coming from

I have a poster on ignore, itahlo or something. Rarely posts unless it's to try and dig me out. Came across from the rtg same time as me. In and around sep 2020. Assuming it's this poster who is continuing it.

It's normally his only contribution to the board unfortunately.

I don't think anyone has ever questioned the recruitment since he arrived. It's of a different order now, as if we were looking in a catalogue no one else has seen at times.

But his responsibilities lie much wider, so hopefully he gets those up to the same level.

I'm feeling a bit daft having read your post tbh.

I was told in July we'd be signing a French attacking player, currently in the French league, and it would happen late on. I pm'd a poster on here but didn't post it on the forum. The source is a German chap, in Nice, who supplies personal services to 'the jet set' and is well connected.

I didn't post because I've grown tired of the endless flak, primarily from RTG and their envoys on here, That's a shame and it won't happen again, 99% of posters would've looked at it and been entertained for a minute. When it came off it would've made them smile and that would've been that.

I won't let these miserable losers spoil the fun again ...

... as you've said it's harmless and no one takes it too seriously, it's just gossip that occasionally involves people in the know.

I was saying to my mate how good we were against Rotherham and said similar but then he reminded me of the performance at home to Barnsley under Ross.

We were absolutely superb that night as well.

Daniel Levy, at Spurs, isn't a likeable man in any way.

Yet he does deals with those who probably dislike him most.

I've no idea if the players like him, I doubt it.

And I've no idea why people care what kind of person Speakman is ...

... I doubt he gives a monkey's whether or not strangers like him.

KS has to be the most confident man at the club, he needs to be as he has to instil the football vision that he and the leadership want to progress.

He has to do this with footballers who are probably 3+ times better than he ever was as a footballer but who won’t be looking at the full picture and future he has in mind. They might not see this though and all they will see is an upstart directing from above who was never as good at them at footy. This might be where the daft “we don’t like him” feelings come. He won’t care though because as long as he has the backing from the board that’s all that matters.

Time will tell whether the director of football will pay off and lets face it the biggest challenge has already happened as we’ve lost Alex Neil and gained another head coach, as long as Tony slots in and we don’t lose momentum it’s working !

I like speakman wants to do it his way(fair enough imo) under him and kld we achieved promotion signed up and coming young players, club infrastructure is changing , with the odd exception our transfers are done quietly.
We don't seem to be held to ransome to get players to come here like we have in the past(borini, kone etc)
I think we play good football, teams from all levels through the club give it their all that hasn't happened in the past
It won't always be good but that's football
    We will have blips .
