Good Morning. It's Tuesday 30th August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road
No more signings unless Dan James departs
In his latest podcast, Elland Road journalist Phil Hay has told Leeds fans not to expect any more signings, unless Dan James were to depart. Although fans are more than happy with the eight signings they have made thus far, Leeds have been screaming out for a forward all Summer. Having been unable to land their striker of choice (Charles De Ketelaere), the Whites have flirted with the idea of signing the likes of Arnaud Kalimuendo, Cody Gakpo, Ben Brereton Díaz, Che Adams, Hwang Hee-Chan or Willy Gnonto, but when push came to shove, Messrs Orta and Radrizzani have yet to loosen the purse strings.
Acccording to Hay “If James was to go then absolutely I would expect someone to come in. From the noises over the weekend, my gut feeling is Leeds may go over the deadline of the window without anything happening,”

Everton join Spurs in pursuit of Dan James
Everton have joined the race to sign Dan James before month end. The 24yo has enjoyed mixed reviews since his £25m move, a year ago tomorrow. In 39 appearances, the Welsh International has netted four times, though his overall team contributions have been good. Spurs too have shown great interest in James, but want to take him on loan before deciding whether to buy or not.
Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has rated a move away from Elland Road as 'touch and go' for the in-demand winger. We also need to remember that Manchester Utd have a sell-on clause believed to be 15%.

Hwang or Gnonto
With less than 48 hours until the Summer transfer window slams shut, Leeds have a striker dilemma. It is believed Wolves frontman Hwang Hee-Chan and Zurich forward Willie Gnonto are both available should Leeds take a punt. Hwang, 26, has dropped down the pecking order at Molyneux, since making his £15m move from RB Leipzig permanent earlier this year. He's netted five times in thirty-four appearances for Bruno Lage's men, but having worked under Jesse Marsch at both Salzburg, and Leipzig, the Leeds gaffer is confident he can get the best out of the South Korean International.
Gnonto is eight years younger than Hwang, and applies his trade in the Swiss League with Zurich He has scored nine times in sixty-one outings. Much has been made that he has won four caps for Italy this year, scoring once (against Germany) and providing one assist in 231 minutes of International game time.
Wolves are wanting to make a £10m mark up (£25m) on their misfiring South Korean, whilst it has been suggested that Zurich are prepared to let Gnonto go for £8m, as he is in the last year of his contract. Neither player fits the marquee signature many of us were expecting, but what is the alternative? Can Leeds afford to wait until after the World Cup?
