If ever there was a guaranteed 0.0 that was it. Us 22 shots 2 on target. Them 5 shots, nothing else. But some on here say we don't need someone with a passing relationship with the ball and the back of the opposing net. Could be worse, could be a Jack.
A lesson in resolute defending from the experts in resolute defending. PNE will continue to be a tough nut to crack as others have already found out. Most of our attempts seemed to be from outside the box. Difficult to take anything from that game though I'm sure one subject will appear again. Still unbeaten at home. Luton next Bloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooobirds
Nkounkou looks quality going forward. Can't say too much about his defending, there was rarely any defending needed.
What was the point of Preston turning up today? It takes 2 to play a game and City were the only one interested in playing football. Better teams will batter PNE once they concede early and have to come out and try to equalise. Although it was 0-0 it wasn’t for lack of trying. Some decent passing moves but City miss the cutting edge necessary at this level. It’ll be a different game v Luton who’ll come to play football
So frustrating - probably the most negative approach to a game from a team I've seen for a long time. It was anti-football from Preston with the sole intent of keeping the point they started with. Sadly we didn't possess the guile nor ability out there today to break the deadlock. We've had recent debates with some healthy exchanges as to where our problem lies, and this game hasn't changed my personal opinion one bit. I'll just add something to that. Creativity is still lacking. Dissappointed in Sawyers who reminds me of Marlon Pack playing further up the pitch. Far too slow over the ground and not running the show like he should, Colwill was coming inside all the time to help out but then we had no width when he did. A huge and welcome change playing on the ground from previous seasons, but Colwill needs to replace Sawyers for Tuesday and so I was told this afternoon (don't shoot the mesenger!) Hugill up top against Luton is definitely on the cards.
Apparently we were ****e as we continue our quest to draw 45 games 0-0 take a point move on, speak again we we play you at Deepdale until then folks good luck
