You could argue same as Neil, but old then. Neil was hardly the life and soul, must have been like pulling teeth sometimes talking to him.

I am not advocating for Mowbray, but mor would I write him off as a disaster. His managerial record is decent. He has been at big clubs. Has some good stats to his name. People will be surprised at his style of play too. He has worked closely with our head of recruitment before, so maybe the sort of players we are attracting are the sort Mowbray will work well with. I said earlier I have seen him coach in the past and he looked spot on to me. I supoose we all want a bit of inventiveness in the appointment, but he may be a good fit for the next stage in our journey back to the big time. Whether it is him who knows, but I do feel people jump to conclusions on the name, rather than the achievements.

The more I’ve read on him the more I’m coming round to the idea, I have a tendency to overreact and whinge on here before I look into things with a level head haha

<laugh><laugh> Me too mate. It is part of being a footy fan I reckon.

As I say I am not saying he is my choice. I would bring back Lee Johnson <laugh><laugh>

Let's see if he is on such a flimsy and relatively low paid contract when he signs for Stoke. I doubt it. Hardly any manager I can think of is, at any club. Even the bloke at Watford is on a two year deal.

If the club insist on a rolling deal, then a manager insisting on speaking elsewhere can be expected.

But we'll see who arrives. But I don't expect it to be anyone who will cost any money in compo or wages. The next bloke will probably be idle now and ready to take any chance that comes his way.

Had the club opted for rolling contracts before Alex Neil? I am sure it was Alex Neil who said at the time he was really comfortable with that sort of contract and had had it in the past.

No he isn't. But he'll light no fires, and he'll face the same bloke behind the scenes wielding all the unaccountable power.

As I said somewhere, let's see if he's on one at Stoke.

To be fair he does have a solid track record - press conferences would be drab though

From what I understand Neil wanted the rolling contract just like he originally had at Norwich and Preston

Well people are saying that but no one knows. And, again, let's see if that is what takes him to Stoke

We know we have no manager, a manager we all were praising to the rooftop a week ago.

But we do have a bloke who's ran some youth teams, has a generic degree in business and has all the power.

He WAS offered a deal, but not what he thought it was worth, so he never signed it.

so could be Dodds and Proctor until further notice
