It is a shock, I'm sure most of you did what I did when you saw the stoke link last night. Grinned and thought ****ing hell bookies!
Not even over night the club gave permission today as he was taking training this morning it was to the point he was in his car in about 3 hours. No ****ing chance have they waited for permission. I believe they got shot of their bloke as they knew Neil was lined up!
Reckon this was signed and sealed on Saturday. If he was tapped up the club should lodge a complaint.
The club getting a lot of stick for not tying him down to a longer contract. But to me the rolling 1 yr contract seems to be his idea, he had 1 at Preston and at Norwich
Not a great today for us Sunderland fans. I started the day excited that we might be making a couple new signings then quickly turned into anger with the rumours of Neil leaving. My take on it is that if he wants to leave us for stoke then he isnt the right man for the job after all. I wasnt sure about his appointment but he quickly grew on me and i thought he was ideal to take us forward. However, the way he has acted today has left a sour taste - not necessarily leaving but doing so the day before a huge game. Im sure if he said to stoke that he wanted to wait till after the norwich game to talk to them they would have been fine with it. If it was a power play by neil then i am pleased the club stood firm. We have a plan in place and need to stick to that if we are ever going to have long term success. Been thinking of potential replacements and 1 person kept coming to mind and that is Mark Warburton - comes across as a great guy, develops youngsters and has worked under a director of football at most of his.clubs I kmow today has been a kick in the balls however no 1 person is bigger than our great club. I only want people who will give 100% and want to be here. Hopefully a positive result tomorrow to lift the gloom of today Ha'way the lads
Sorry but something niggling at me is Warnock going on on Sky last week about how his one regret is he didn't manage Sunderland. Did he know this was happening and fancies a crack?
Read a few things tonight that Neil wasn't overly impressed with the new lad from Costa Rica? What have I missed?
Christ I hope not numerous players have gone on record saying he’s a great man manager but wouldn’t let him put the cones out for a training session young side like this needs good coaching
So nothing concrete then? I have no clue about this new lad, but as with all of them I will give him a chance while he wears the shirt
Sorry like but if our scouts and DoF see talent in someone why shouldn’t they sign him just because a manager who’s never seen him play doesn’t want him. We have a model which I believe so far has been successful and if AN is against us signing young talents and prefers a short term project with absolute plodders like Dwight Gayle and a 40 year old Phil Jagielka then he can jog on the baldy c**t. Haway the new gaffa.
