If the story above is true then speakman needs to go .. its alright having a structure and philosophy on transfers but if the guy at the top can't manage or read people it will always fail... he's not the right man .. hope its wrong or the clubs owner is about to get his first ****sorm. AN is not clean on this also as he has dropped the players and fans from Great height...
I hope you are right mate, if they are fuming though who is gonna pick there chins up I don’t think we have a captain like figure do we? Bill & ben won’t do it
The players don’t get to choose the manager. Quite right they weren’t entertained. If we went back cap in hand to AN because the players are upset then we’ve just handed the club on a plate to one man and his whims. The club has been restructured so one person leaving shouldn’t tear everything down and you have to start again.
What the **** is it about our club that seems to make running it so difficult? Is there some uranium or something buried under the academy or in Wearmouth pit that frys the brains of anyone that spends more than a few hours around the club? Arguably, (only because I can't, for lack of reliable info about things like today, Lee Johnson's leaving and his replacement comment yet about the current set), we haven't had good business management since we moved to the new ground. Manager gets you promoted, get him secured with a longer contract. Simple. If he refuses one then start looking around for replacements. With regard to contracts then insert a clause that they can't leave between season start and end of September or during January. In the present circumstances, would it have been beyond our powers to give AN approval to speak to Stoke but only once tomorrow's game was over? We hadn't denied him permission, but protected our team's interests - Stoke couldn't have done anything more to our detriment just before a big game than target our manager. Even if he didn't walk then it has upset player confidence in him and the club. I'm, like a lot of us, shocked, bemused and downright fuming that we are going through this the day before a big game.
If every manager quit because they didn't get the players they wanted, or weren't in control of signings, there'd be no managers after a transfer window ... ... Neil is doing a 'Benitez' here. Lining up his visa, making vague noises about backing then scurrying off for the money. Managers are never honest about these things. And they demand loyalty even if the player isn't being picked or whatever but they can happily swan off if they don't get their own way. KLD has a vision for the club and if that means making it viable and sustainable that's fair enough. There are plenty of examples of how not to run a club.
Can see Stewart’s agent getting the word out now like. Why stick around here knowing the club won’t even pay to keep the manager who worked magic.
How about they fume at the bloke leaving for more wages? Aww poor little Alex doesn't feel valued? Quick everyone pat his head, tell him he's a good boy and give in to his demands (any idea what they were?) If they don't want to be here then refuse to play, don't let down 40,000 people who will turn up tomorrow and give their right bollock to put on the red and white shirt
Well if the players don’t value a minimum of 35k at home games and 50k+ at Wembley they can **** off as well. I’ve been here for over 50 years and seen much better than what we have here now.
The players will also be fuming because they’ll see how our main contract negotiator deals with contract negotiations. And now they probably fancy leaving whilst their stocks are high before having to negotiate
aye and Stewart’s agent will be thinking maybe the club won’t fancy paying him more either a club that isn’t willing to pay its main assets what they’re worth isn’t going to be a club anybody wants to be at.
Stewart's agent will have been hawking him around since last year. The only thing agents are interested in in their pay cheque
Then Neil has been completely unprofessional. I completely get wanting to get a better contract, or even having difference of opinion to speakman. But he shouldn't engineer a player rebellion. Sounds like he had a hissy fit and wanted to stick one to the club. "I'm not getting what I want when I want it, despite knowing what I signed up for, so I'm going to **** it up as much as possible before I leave"
If that is what Neil has done he is a disgrace. An absolute disgrace. To cause that level of unrest in the staff you are leaving behind, in any role in life, is despicable and only the most petty and sma minded of people would do it. It would be an incredibly selfish thing to deliberately leave a group of people you have worked with with an impression of the club like that. He would do well to show a bit of class. He was out of work, volunteering at Crewe with a bit of advice, and we gave him a job. He did brilliantly well but he seems to have some kind of ego that makes me think we are well rid. People hated LJ for his ego, if this is true this fella is off the scale.
