Stoke have sack Michael O'Neill after just 1 win this season Dean Holden has been put in temporary charge. The first of many sackings to come I'd imagine.
Admittedly a poor start from a Stoke side that many had tipped to be play off contenders at a minimum. For me, it’s a bit knee jerk and too early to really make that call. Imagine if we’d fired NP after back to back league defeats at the start of the campaign, it’s ridiculous. Clubs have to give managers at least 10 games to have a fair idea of how it’s going. This season more than ever as it was a compressed pre-season due to the World Cup.
Tough league the Championship, Stoke are a tough side, hard luck Michael O'Neill, good man as your number 2, it makes you realise thank god for Nige.
Stoke have apparently approached Alex Neil of Sunderland as a possible replacement for Michael O’Neill The entitled Sunderland fans won’t be happy if he considers Stoke a better bet than them But never mind eh ?
interesting thought say LJ gets asked to leave .. new manager so MAC asked to leave as well ... what about Rueben?
Most football managers' tenures end in a sacking. SAF is the only example I can think of off the top of my head who peacefully retired after a successful tenure.
As predicted the Sunderland fans were in absolute meltdown on their board after Neil decided to go to 'little old Stoke' Hilarious
Fair enough - you are probably right. Ok so that's 4 managers over 50+ years, out of a pool of how many???
Yeh, not many, look at what those achieved as well, I don’t think it could happen anymore. They were the exception, most, as you say, ultimately fail.
as stated elsewhere Alex Neil was wary of Dreyfus! joined stoke on a 3 year deal with time to get the job done!!!
Stoke are one of the richest clubs outside the Prem. Mind you, so are we - FFP makes sure that stat doesn’t mean much anymore!!!
