You're all right, what was I thinking? Far better to be laminate or lino, who the **** would want original parquet?
The section in front, the near side to the pillars, I laid myself. About ten years ago. Was a weird step down into the garden so I filled it up to same level as the rest of the room and then laid the parquet. I also put the hearth and wood burner in myself. What I didn’t do, is resand that floor. Had the front room and hall done while I was on holiday as well, we can move the stuff back in tomorrow. Two grand to get the whole ground floor double sanded and treated ffs!
Chief's paid £2k to have that sanded. He ain't giving homes any more to oil it too I think that's as finished as it's getting bro
I meant the parquet blocks he's got going vertically up the sides. Nice finish that. Usually associate Chief and his work with bulldozing stuff and cranes everywhere so I'm just glad it weren't a picture of a building site.
What! I'm going to give a special mention to Chief at the start. I do that with all the caretakers. K bye
That is finished, the picture clearly isn't doing it justice as it's sanded back to original colour, oiled, sanded again then oiled and treated again. It looks ****ing mint. The only bit I ever did is the front section, which matches the 1930's original floor so I must have done a half decent job.
No, all the furniture has been moved about to do the sanding. While we're on, and I'm in full bore mode, here's the hallway!
