I actually think the best way of giving Bennette time and helping him to settle is to do the opposite of that and throw him right in.

The lad is 18, on another continent and doesnt speak the language. the only thing he knows is football. let him play.

he'll acclimatise quicker and better if he's playing rather than watching.

has to be good enough to play of course.

He needs to grasp english first

Ne neither. They genuinely do not count to me now.
As a club they've sold their soul but that shouldn't stop people discussing players and football in general. This attitude that you have to rigidly stick to the thread title would make this a very boring thread and is a bit weird. Conversations naturally go off on tangents. You don't sit in the pub talking about cars and banish someone to another table if they mention motorbikes.

Proud to say I couldn’t even name five players in their team. Beyond me why people are arguing about a Newcastle player on a Sunderland forum.

Exactly this! At the moment, they're not even rivals, which, hopefully will change in the next 2 or 3 years.:emoticon-0103-cool:

Any associated with Clive Clarke
This 100% the comment was his and his alone, I lived in stone for a couple of years and still have a load of stoke and vale m8s. The stoke lads never come across like that, they’re in a mess with ffp but never act billy big bollocks about us, always appreciate our support and are genuinely good supporters.

I know an oat cake eater. Canny lad and never talks sh*t about us. Clarke has a chip on his shoulder because of Roy Keane about 400 year ago. O'Neil has sorted Stoke right out, halved the wage bill and brought in decent player.

Yep. No objections at all to it being discussed. I just like to express my contempt for them at every opportunity!

A contempt by the way, which I did not have as a young lad, despite the rivalry.

I believe la Real play Isak as a wide player who tucks inside, like an old fashioned inside forward to some extent. His main contribution comes from his dribbling and from the positions he takes up. He's very good as part of that team but I'm not sure he's the right player for Newcastle.

He played in a 2 up top for them most of last season

Oh yes, every opportunity should be taken to express contempt for the former football club/current propaganda tool!

Is there a serious suggestion that we are paying 6m Euros for Michut on a 5 year deal? Genuine question.
I doubt it but then again if they think a player is worth it and the deal is right then perhaps we are willing to pay it in the right structure. The type of deals (buy back clauses etc) that we are willing to do could put us in pole position for these lads. I doubt Celtic would be putting a buy back for PSG in the deal for example.

I dont know mate. I reckon we could, if we wanted to though. Unless someone tells me we are restrained under FFP I could see the club investing in this way. I was talking to someone recently, who knows football agents, and he said we are a different beast these days in terms of player dealings. Gave me the clear impression were both very serious about our approach, but also were a club people were happy to do business with.

Just to be clear I know zero about Michut, nor the youth setup in France. But the club will have done their homework and if they make a move it will be for all the right reasons, and have a chance of succeeding, in my opinion anyway.

Thanks mate. Good to read your comments. Gives more confidence we are being managed properly and moving in the right direction.
