Glatzel started slowly but after a while he started slotting some through balls home.

He’s proved in Germany how proficient he is at slotting home chances - Watters has the ability as seen by some quality finishing at MKD but he does get into the right areas hence 2 one on ones recently but just slightly askew with the end shot.

Still think it’s harsh to judge him after he’s missed 2 chances but that’s all he’s had in 5 truncated outings this season.

Perhaps Harris should start and Watters come on against a tiring defence.

I'm not judging him on two missed chances at all. It's more of his low effort levels overall.

As I said, if he'd notched a couple perhaps we wouldn't be that worried about that aspect of his game. As it stands, he's brought very little to the party.

It was all new 3 weeks ago and expectations were set, but 5 games in, we now we know a lot more.

The keeper, defence and midfield have more or less all been sorted - up front it hasn't.

We're left with last season's hopefulls in Watters and Harris, with Collins being replaced by Etete. I accept that Zak Davies has been out of contention, but there again, that's another gamble.
Once again, I fully accept that but who is available, affordable and of the right temperament that wouldn't be a gamble?
.This is better than Politics innit <laugh>

I really don't think either are good enough at Championship level. I know others on here are very experienced football watchers but I have been going to games and watching on TV for well over 50 years and seen little from them to show they can score regularly.

Harris puts himself about more so is likely to create space and chances for others but does not seem to have the knack of getting shots away.

Watters just seems lost. In the one to one's with the keepers in the last two games, why didn't he go around the keeper for a tap in, the Brum game especially. He might have knocked in a few in the lower leagues but Championship defenders are better and they look confident of blotting him out.

Etete is still an unknown quantity but hasn't shown us much so far.

To me Davies is a winger not a striker and has also got himself tied up when trying to score.

Taking all that into account, we need a competent striker as we can't rely on the above four. Also we are no longer a threat at set pieces, as I said a few days ago.

Signing someone with experience can also help the young guns as they might learn a thing or two.

Were Norwich to sign someone new up top then Hugill would be down to 4th or 5th in their pecking order. Speculation I know but worth a punt.

Alternatively I see Villa may loan out Jordan Archer to a Championship club again. Not the experience I advocate but 7 goals in 20 Preston games last season is not a bad return.

For me, we cannot risk going until the January window with so little goal scoring ability.

I'm loving the differing opinions on this. Some will be right and others nearly right.

I still think the ability is there and we'll start scoring soon.
