We could have really, really done with someone like Casemiro. But at half that price, and a third of those wages. But it is what it is - United, Chelsea and City just operate on a different planet that us hen it comes to transfers and wages. :embarrassed:

Think he was a panic buy as their main targets will not sign for them as they have no CL. They need top 4 before big names will move to them.

In fairness casemiro is a pretty good player.

Ignore the business numbers (and yes they are blinding) and utd will improve themselves after playing us (no medical down yet)

He's not going to be the guy sat on his own while the rest go pressing but he certainly improves on what utd can field now.

The video of the Brazil team (faked) ripping the piss out of him for inneffect retiring by joining utd for the money is hilarious

    Remember Saul last season?

Sometime these types of things absolutely flop if it's not done right. I don't think something like this would suit us.

Always think that excuse is a really weak minded show from players.
"They are not in the CL and i am not good enough to help them get there, i want to go to a team that has got there for me" <doh>

Indeed. I do think Casemiro, at a third of that price, would be worth a punt. But **** me, we couldn't make him the highest-paid player at the club, not knowing how he'll take to the prem. I mean we're hard-up, but not desperate. But it is frustrating at this time of year that United, City and Chelsea (and now even Arsenal and Spurs) can flash the cash like... well, Everton two seasons ago, I suppose. <whistle>

Depends on where the player currently is. If your at a top club and won 3 CLs, can see why you wouldn’t want to go to a club that isn’t in the CL as it’s a step down.

is Ronaldo weak minded for wanting to go to a CL club? Or just selfish?

Even ronaldo doesn't want to go there.

He's tried every other club in the cl so far. It's embarrassing at this point

Well Casimero is at a club where he has just won 5 CLs and is happy to try and get us to that level.

Ronaldo i understand tbh, his whole life has been about setting records and this (or at best next) season are his last chance to push his records in the comp.
Still a very disappointing attitude (if true) but a bit more understandable than some twat who has played in the comp once or twice on the back of the team he is with.

Just strikes me as though utd and ten haag had little to no plan this summer, or at least no alignment between the two.

Casemiro is a good player, but hardly building a team for the future.

Ahh the old Rafa "net spend" scam <laugh>

This player only cost us £13ml because the players we sold to make up the difference weren't worth anything :emoticon-0105-wink:

Said it a few years ago on here, your new car was £3k cheaper than most peoples, all you had to do was hand over your old car <laugh>

One nutter we all wanted, tbf. I still do - despite his Benteke-like qualities of tripping over the ball in front of goal (Suarez and Bobby were hit and miss for the first couple of months they came here, so there's plenty of time on that) it can't be denied, even on Monday, he pulls defences all over the show. I think he'll be well fine, but he'll (deservedly) have every CB in the country pushing his buttons now that he's flipped under pressure. He will though - he's just too desperate to please, atm.

Think Haaland tops it by quite some distance.

£85m for the transfer fee, signing on fee and agent fee. Before you even take into account his 375k wages (19.5m a year)

nunez on the other hand was 64m and on 140k a week (7.28m). Although can’t see how much agent/signing on fee. Would surprise me if it was over £20m though
