Looked fantastic earlier in his career, wonder what's got on with him. I don't recall any big injuries.

He did have a back injury that seemed to drag on, and worth saying that Deli played a huge amount of football as a teenager, a lot of it before he was even 18.

Then of course there is the ton of money he'll have banked. Getting your body back to full fitness is bound to be harder for some when you're loaded.

Think he played or came on in one of those heavily attended reserve games. One I went to with my cousin before some beers.
Think it was Man Utd with a crowd of about 24000 if I recall correctly though it may have been more - all hail and welcome the mighty TYSON don’t think anyone could believe how small he was !!!

Drinkwater would an ideal signing, just what we need. He was captain at Leicester. Apparently went through some bad times at Chelsea but possibly worth the risk, assuming he's not a dick
I agree he would be, I was against this signing when I 1st heard the rumour but actually think he is what we need. If he has looked after himself over the summer then I think he is worth a gamble. He played 33 games for Reading in the league last season and his stats looked decent.

Curious why he hasn't gone back there mind. Unless he's just weighing up options

I assume he has had zero pre season? Has he just been training on his own or did a club let him use their facilities or anything?

He was with Reading on one of their training camps. Paul Ince was interviewed about it and said Drinkwater was talking about going abroad. That was a couple of weeks ago I think.
Champion, as long as he's done something I suppose and isn't way off. He was a good player at Leicester but the Chelsea move was awful for him. Hopefully he is serious about wanting to get his career back on track.

Most out of contract players can get back into an old club to keep fitness levels up. As we are seeing though match fitness and general fitness are different. Like you say he will be physically fit enough to train, and if we do get a few end of window moves in the club will likely play a couple of behind closed doors games.

I really cant decide what I think of Danny Drinkwater coming here...

They just need to close deals. It's that simple.

Evening mate. I don't normally question, but when you say just need to close deals, is this in regards to a few are in the final stages, or were struggling to close deals as to we have missed out on targets because of an inability? Im probably looking into this comment wrong. Just with the manager saying there's no door to knock on and we all have to be honest, after our starting 11, anything after falls short.
