Seems like often in back three the defender just counts on one of the other two being there. Lots of finger pointing. Unless very well drilled

Their first goal was just the perfect example. Bednarek lost his man, but ABK was stood free trying to read and intercept a cross without knowing where the danger was behind him

I just don't think that Bedders and Mo communicate well with each other, it's the same when they are in a pair and it will be interesting to see which two will start if Ralph decides on playing a back 4.

Watching that challenge on Armstrong again, I don't think it was a clear error by the on field referee so right for VAR not to intervene.

I have watched it a few times and agree there is an element of doubt about whether the player got a touch before his back leg took Stu out. However I just have that biased opinion, that had it been Salah, Haaland or Ronaldo etc. there would have been no hesitation with the card? Experience says that playing against ten men hasn't been a good experience for us!

This is the big thing for me. Salah gets that challenge against him and not only is it given as a red on the field but it is also not overturned either

The back 3 doesn’t work in my view because the centre backs are too slow getting across to cover the space left by the full back when they’ve gone forward

This means that the opposition winger has about 2 hours to cross the ball, or the centre back gets pulled out of position leaving gaps in the middle if the other 2 don’t shift over (which ours dont)

In the back four our full backs still go forward but the midfielder (Lavia) moves across and covers the space left meaning there is no easy punt ball into the corner which completely ****s us. It means that our full backs can bomb forward with confidence knowing the extra midfielder is there covering them. It also means one of the centre backs doesn’t get dragged out one on one with a winger, or leaving his zone in the middle of the pitch potentially leaving a big ****ing gap when the other centre backs don’t pick it up

We’ve got a defence that’s being bombarded with fresh instruction from the new back room staff so I’m not surprised we’re seeing a few teething problems. I am surprised that all our new signings are hitting the ground running. So not overly concerned by the former and delighted with latter. Plenty of cause for optimism. We’re in for another season of highs and lows for sure, let’s hope the highs win!

The problem with the back 3 for what it is worth from me, and I just don't like seeing it is we have no leadership there, Bednarek is bloody awful at martialling the other 2. Doesn't help he can't even read the game very well either.
Unless you get in a seasoned player, with leadership and someone who knows how to play In it... It won't work for us unless you want to see basic mistakes seemingly every game, until miraculous Bednarek gets a brain... that being said, His attitude is ****.. I'd rather sell him and play lyanco or Stephens there.

Just had a meeting with 3 Leeds fans, they are all supremely confident. One of them wanted to have a bet with me on the game so I suggested looking at the odds and they all fell about laughing and in disbelief that we were favourites with the bookies, they now have a reasonable mortgage payment placed on the game between them with a bookie

Would be jokes if we won

Monday should be interesting

I’m probably in minority, I know, but I’d get far more pleasure watching the current squad being coached to greatness as opposed to just keep buying more players until eventually something clicks

Did anyone notice at about 85 mins Ralph gave Djenepo a bit of paper that he then gave to BK and then to Salisu?

Either none of them could understand it so they kept passing it on to one another or it was instructions.

I'll hazard a guess:

"Ja, Stick 4 hinten. ja, don't concede"

It looked like a menu for the takeaway after the match. They wanted someone to ring ahead to get their orders in.

Interesting watching Chelsea v Spurs, Spurs playing 5 at the back and we’re completely out played and loosing
Conte takes of a defender and brings on Richarlason and the game turns on its head with Spurs scoring twice.
