Dare I say it, but is it only me that sees Callum O'Dowda visually bears quite a remarkable resemblance to our very own Peter Whittingham? The similarities don't end with appearance. Both are left footed and possess a marked degree of control over the ball with it. Whitts started out as a left winger and so has O'Dowda. Despite always having the ability, Whitts only really came to the fore in his mid twenties when he switched inside to replace Steve McPhail - another Irish quality player. Is this the path destined for Mr. O'Dowda? If he turns out to be anywhere near the player that Whitts was for us, I'll be well pleased.
Thought it myself Sparkey, especially a couple photos where hes looking behind himself. One big difference in style. O'Dowda could never emulate the lugubrious or languid style of Whitts. He celebrates too much as well. Similar, but there will never be another Whitts.
