Schrodinger’s tactics

I was talking about neither mine, nor his..I was talking about the players and where they feel comfortable
I know. Trouble is some of them feel comfortable in other divisions so it doesn't really matter where he plays some of them

And if you play someone out of position often enough, do they do the footballer version of Chuang Tzu dreaming he was a butterfly?

Hopefully someone in the coaching team is going to sort out our non marking at corners.
In the first half Leeds nearly scored from a corner where a near post flick on was met at the back post by an unmarked player who fluffed his header. The second goal was identical but was put away.
The defender at the back post, I think was Salisu who didn’t have a clue what was going on behind him and the attacker was untracked by any of the little blockers.

Not convinced by either of them, and one or two good performances notwithstanding, I never have been.

Choose a partnership and stick with it, preferably without Bednarek or Salisu. I realise that might mean making Jack Stephens a regular starter but I’m not totally opposed to that; he may not be quite good enough, but you can never imo fault his attitude. Having said that, Jack on for Djeneppo when we have an actual LBon the bench? Bit baffling, that.
No LB on bench only Lyanco and Valery

The ref was awful. The kung fu kick on che in the first half was acceptable? I’m not arguing the Armstrong tackle but he let so much go against us in the first half
Yeah the ref was very inconsistent. How the lino missed that challenge on Che when it was right in front of him I don't know. It nearly took Che's head off!

VAR was never going to overturn but ref got it wrong.
Well that's down to opinion. He did get the ball but it's debatable whether he took Armstrong first. But it wasn't a clear and obvious error so wasn't for VAR to intervene.

This incident was right in front of me and it was a very poor miss, two Leeds players getting in each oither's way.

Coming away from the ground, I think Saints could take more away from this match than Leeds. The first half was dreadful to watch with Saints taking until 18 mins to have the first chance on goal. I felt we were too negative and once Bamford was off, we could have been more adventurous, I missed the first goal as I as still wiaiting to get sevred at the bar but the first 20 mins of the second half were, if anything, even worse. If I am honest, Aribo was fortunate to score his goal given the flulff by the keeper and the fact Leeds had 2 players on the line. Once the substitutions had been made, Saints were in control and looked like the kind of footballer side Ralph played when he first became boss and during the pandemic. I thought we were superb.

I can see this match as 2 points dropped by Leeds whoshould never have let Saints back in to the match yett, by the same token, the underlying story is that the new signings brought in look like having a genuine impact and that Saints would appear to be moving in the right direction. There is still a question markover Ralph. From Leed's perspective, got to say they look like a team who will struggle to hold an advantage. They looked poor and Bamford will now be a miss. In summary this was a point we snatched to make it appear better when we should have been looking for 3 points at 3pm.

I haven't read the whole thread so suspect I'm echoing many but I have just two points:

1. Formation, formation, formation.
2. New signings:

A. Lavia looks the absolute mustard.
B. Aribo is clearly the handful in the PL that he was in the SPL.
C. If that cameo from Mara is indicative of future performances we have a proper talent on our hands.

Last quick word on 5 at the back; rather than have three **** CBs staring dumbly at each other, it’s clearly better to have two **** CBs who at least knows what is expected of them. Especially if one of them may not be ****.
Seems like often in back three the defender just counts on one of the other two being there. Lots of finger pointing. Unless very well drilled
