Jeez that's a relief and bloody good news. Why Beale couldn't have said that straight after the Charlton game god knows. Would've allayed alot of people's worries. Beale knows as most of is do kust how pivotal he is to winning games for us, he almost implied that he only risked him v Boro cos he knew how important a win was and that without him it was doubtful we'd get one !

So all our eggs are in one basket then?
I like to think I have more faith in the rest of the squad?

If any side loses their standout player they'd suffer end of. Take Salah out of Liverpool or Benzema out of Madrid , it's tge same thing. Take Willock out of our team and we're certainly nowhere as good.

Also, having your best player on the pitch often brings up the level of those around him.

Good news indeed that there's no new injury worries.
It's actually reassuring that Beale is managing his return in this way. Players often pick up fresh injuries when returning from a long lay off and striving for full fitness.

From the interview WLS had with Beale, it also sounded like Roberts and Paal are going to be eased back in slowly to reduce further injury risk, and it didn't sound like they would be playing full games before the end of next week. Seemed Roberts may travel to Sunderland, Paal probably not to me, but he wasn't too clear about that. Don't know who is going to fill the 8 role with no Amos or Richards, or the 10 come to that.

It's concerning the number of injuries we're getting particularly with such a thin squad. The fact the new signings are amongst them is even more concerning...

We have 2 back to back home games after Sunderland, and it sounded like Beale wants as many of the injured/ fatigued players available for them as possible. In particular Willock

I was thinking the same, but listening to Beale, it seems to be a mixture of injuries and nursing players back to match fitness.
Still too many injuries though for sure.

… so this may be regarded as a “bonus” match?
I wouldn't say it's a bonus match, you should be trying to get points from every game. I'd say by what Beale said, that he still expects us to be good enough to take something from up there but that he's targeting 2 wins from those 2 home games.

What the feck is a 'bonus' match?!

Every league match is an opportunity for points and progression. Don't take any for granted!

I didn't get the impression from Beale's interviews that he's treating Sunderland as a bonus match.
I presume he's definitely wanting to make our home form as good as possible to ensure enough points during the season. He eluded to our poor run of home defeats at the end of last season and wanted to put that right.
