West Brom heavily linked. Along with Boro I think.

I’m still confident we’ll do decent business before the end of the window, I don’t think we’d burn all of our budget on Clarke and Ballard, but I hope we utilise the loan market well because there’s some quality premier league players heading to championship clubs on loan the last few days, the exact type of player we should be looking at - the point I was trying to make when there was talk of loaning Broadhead.

I'm pleased we are not buying/loaning any old/young crap tbh. I'd rather we have an Ok start to the season and get the right players in.

Yep, totally agree. Some people don’t want to develop loan players which is understandable, but in our current position we should be going to be big 4/6 for players who would improve our starting Xl. No good saying don’t develop other clubs players when they’d massively improve our team and we have no chance of signing them on a permanent. Plenty of highly regarded prospects around Europe that clubs would rather be playing week in week out in front of 40k fans than playing u23s football. As we spoke about earlier on the thread, Derby had Mount, Tomori and Wilson on loan at the same time when they got the play off final. Villa had Tammy Abraham. You don’t want to waste your loans on players who’ll just make up the squad.

Can't say I agree. Players sometimes sign, or renew because a manager is on a decent length contract.

It was fair enough in February, but not now IMO.

I think in some instances this may be true but given that most clubs sack managers regularly and very few see out a contract perhaps players don't see this as so important and are more interested in what is my wadge going to be

I’m going to go out of my way to find out how much Broadhead is on because I’m not having it for one minute that he’s on anything close to £30k a week. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I don’t believe he’s on £32k a week at all, he’s played one part game for Everton and hasn’t played above league 1 in 99% of his career, even they aren’t that stupid.

He certainly needs to go somewhere, just to get his head out of his arse.

Don’t believe that fir a second. £2900 is less than Pritchard and Bailey Wright are on. It’s a league 1 wage. Don’t believe he’d have stayed at Everton for that as I reckon we’d have offered at least that if not more
