It shows both these drivers find it hard to cope under pressure. Maybe they should look at DJ AlgaeGodSquire and how he turned round his form. Instead of moping at bad results he had self belief he could turn it round and make STR and the viewers take note that he is good enough. Maybe Lewis and Phillipa need to grow up stop crying like babies and do the work on track!

Is it just me who seems to think that at no point was Hamilton level with Massa?

I think that too, but British press have to be pro British no matter what. Never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

EDIT - Found a youtube video of how "along side" Hamilton was.

Evidence showing that at no point was Hamilton alongside Massa which I am sure people will studiously ignore.

Regardless of what we/they/us/whoever thinks the stewards deemed penalty for Massa.

I beleive everytime we try to argue against a penalty if one is handed to Mr H, the crux of the argument coming back is 'The stewards decided it so who are we to argue against them'.

I feel the same argument applies here now and the debate on the matter should now cease, right up until it all happens again at the next race........

I think that this incident demonstrates how Lewis has changed this year.

He mentioned that he tried to back-out, which is possibly why his progress was halted, and he never quite got all the way along side Massa. The "Lewis of old" would probably not have backed out, and Massa knowing that it was the "Lewis of old" coming up along his inside would have realised that too, and possibly behaved differently, or even if he did turn in still, Lewis would probably have been further along up the inside, making the Stewards decision easier.

We need the proper Lewis back, and hopefully we will next season.

Agreed, steward’s decision is final. No need for any further evidence needed to prove how wrong they were.

It was a racing incident, neither should have been penalised. Though I do feel that Massa knew what he was doing and thought he would turn in and hope for the best and if he hit Hamilton he would come off best and Hammy get a pen.

I dont understand all the arguing about one driver being exactly alongside, as IMO it decides where on the track and the characteristics of the corner as to who is in the right or wrong and even then there will always be this middle ground where people disagree.

It was a racing incident like Webber v Hamilton Singapore last year Webber on inside Hamilton turns in not giving enough room / Mark not fully alongside depending on your point of view. I just liked seeing the wheel to wheel racing (literally in this case) - but Hammy and Webber did it much better at the last race ;-)

No one got a penalty there did they? Unless you meant the horses head that he woke up to ;)

so because button tried to avoid, there was no penalty given?

Though I thought he did get a drive through in that race? or was that for something else?

Look, its bloody simple, all drivers should know whats going on around them, no matter who you are, there is no excuse for turning in on another driver, these guys are paid to race and not to piss about driving into each other, in this instance Massa clearly knew Hamilton was coming through as he was looking left and must have seen Lewis and decided to turn into him and force Hamilton to back off.

It was a racing incident, no penalty should have been given, Hamiltons mistake was to back off he should have forced his way past, giving a clear message to all.

Are you suggesting that Massa should have let Hamilton past? As far as I could see Hamilton, yet again, got nowhere near making a pass. He even said he tried to back out. If you are ahead, outbrake the driver behind and attempt to take the normal line into a corner, why on earth is it your fault?

I agree with you about Massa, but I think this is the only Hamilton we will ever get. His judgement is appalling, and his "amazing" overtakes are dependent on the driver in front getting well out of the way of the crazy loon.
