As I've lived down south in Brighton now for 25 years I've come to gain a fondness to Brighton and Hove Albion. So much so that I've bought a season ticket for this season as a good mate has had one for years so thought I'd join him. Just happens that Brightons 1st home game of this season is Saturday against the scum. Looking forward to this game and I'll proudly be wearing my Sunderland top.
I used to watch Brighton when I was down there, june 84 to July 85. Worked split shifts in a hotel, so used to go to Saturday home games.....Goldstone ground north stand. Lived in East Street, Brighton for a bit then Seafield Road in Hove....10 mins walk from the ground. Still the first result I look for other than ours.
Don't forget we slag off those black & whites that turn up to Norwich etc etc in their kits. I still follow Stockport and Macclesfield results as local to Me.
Potter is a great manager. Being constantly overlooked by the big clubs in favour of someone with a different pedigree. Honestly think this guy is one of the best in the game
thought he had the look of a 'twoca' when he first came on the scene but he has them playing some very good football, growing to like his style.
I don't have a 2nd team and I don't think I ever could really in this country. I have soft spots for some clubs across Europe and I could envisage myself having a 2nd club if I was in a different country. But now watching another English team.
Don't be like them, pal Rangers and Vitesse Arnhem, for me. I've got to Ibrox a few times and I used to go and watch Vitesse a lot, but that's cooled now and I just watch for their results. If I'm ever in the Netherlands again I'll go when I can get to one of their games.
Absolutely. He's got everything required to go all the way. Man Utd have missed a trick not swooping for this guy.
I don't have a 2nd team, but two teams one is the lads and the other is my home town club which is in the South.
Used to be Man City when they were the underdogs but I have no interest in them now. I like Sheffield Wednesday because it was them or Sunderland growing up. I'm fond of a dozen or so Italian teams but I don't follow them.
Don't you have an interest in Donny? Apologies if I've got it wrong but I'm assuming you have been brought up there?
Absolutely right mate, that's the hometown team I should support but for whatever reason I'm not interested in them. I'm not that fond of the town I couldn't wait to move away. For whatever reason everyone at school supported either Sheff Weds or Sheff Utd I'm not sure why Donny didn't get a look in.
Not saying you should support them. Donny not getting a look in will be akin to the likes of Rochdale not getting a look in because of City and Utd.
I keep an eye on Norwich. I was brought up there. First time I saw Sunderland was at Carrow Road. Sam Allardyce was in the side.
