Inevitable. A message for Pulis:my emoticon-0172-mooni I may have mentione in the past that I am not Pulis' biggest fan. Taxi for Pulis NOW
I am not quite there yet Nicky. However a couple more months of that ****e and I will be joining you.
Well well... that match last night. The ball wasn't touching the pitch much was it? We hounded big Sam out of Newcastle for the dross he served up on the pitch and i was shocked watching yesterday by your style of play, and how it forces itself on the other team. It wasn't a good match, there might have been 4 goals, but it was mostly head tennis. Penalties were soft, our goalkicking was poor. There was no flow to the game, it was start stop all game, even though there weren't exactly many dirty fouls apart from Perch... who was dangerous, high, two footed, and could have been red. Crouch looked really poor for a 10 mio striker. Legs all over the place, it looked like he lost his bearings at times. At the end of the day though, I wonder, how much longer do stoke fans want to watch this dross. You are a premier league side, you deserve to be. But by God, it's time for some sort of evolution to come away from the hoof set play ball that you play.
TS07 - 100% - my posts over the past 3 years plus have indicated my thoughts about Pulis - cannot stand the man. Sgt many more weeks, never mind months of this tripe and we are DOWN! 10 games = 8 goals Hmmm and as you say we are leaking goals - it just adds up to 1 conclusion = RELEGATION. Enough is enough
Toon in peace. Find it quite bizarre Stoke fans turning on Pulis. He's brought you up, kept you up and got you into Europe. He would be a legend in my opinion at The Toon if he managed that. Yes admittedly not the most attractive style of football but still a cracking achievement. Best of luck for the rest of the season
I don't think anyone wants to take anything away from Pulis for his achievements at Stoke City. Hes done very well, he's established you as a premier league side, he deserves a lot of credit, as does your board with good dealings. At the same time though, there comes a time when you wonder where do we go next? You're in the europe league for pete's sakes, you're in the bigtime with big traditional european clubs. I just feel Stoke could do better than playing what you do. And I also feel you've got better playing staff sitting on the bench to make way for championship level players that play due to being very effective and playing hoofball and crash the crease (a hockey strategy where you just want to put as much pressure on the opposition goaltender). It seems like Pulis has adopted this small team mentality 'we're only Stoke we have to battle to stay above water' bla bla. No you're not, you're better than that already. At the end of the day that last night was not very fun to watch. And I think the siege mentality can only take you so far, look at Blackburn and Wigan. I feel Stoke are comfortably a 7-12th league position team, much like Newcastle, I think Pulis (or someone else) should be looking up not down.
All we want is a little bit of football - not much to ask? Bolton this weekend after a jolly jaunt to Tel Aviv - JOY
The frustrating thing is when Pulis allows it, we can play some lovely football. The most recent example of this was at home to United where we played them off the park and played some cracking football, although Match of the Day typically edited it so it looked like we just hoofed the ball into the box all the time.
Just for argument's sake Nicky. If Pulis left today, who would you want to replace him? Coates has got the dosh to bring in an experienced European manager but maybe more realistically Roberto Martinez. I'd love him, he's a really underrated manager, who I think with better players could become a really good manager.
Sgt - absolutely spot on - yes please - and ALSO get hold of their scouting network in South/Central America = Palacios, Rodellega and Valencia, bought for peanuts and then what? I've had enough of Pulis - 3 1/2 years of it. ENOUGH
O'Neil, Curbishley, Dimatteo, Hughes etc....... To be fair anyone could do the same job with the current squad so it couldnt be any worse - could it?
the style of football you're known for you when you wanted to stay up but you are an established premier league side now so it needs to change saying that i have seen you play good football at time so why can't you do it more often.
because our manager doesnt like to play good football. He would rather players send the ball into orbit!
