Farcical stuff at Ibrox. 2nd yellow for a Rangers player for a fair challenge but when the referee realises he'll have to send him off he consults his assistant and then reverses the decision. Maybe if all refs used some common sense we wouldn't have needed VAR.
Went to Charlton v QPR tonight. Good turn-out from QPR fans not so much for Charlton. Decent enough game. Thought Charlton deserved to take it to penalties (even though they left it til the 91st minute to equalise). They won on 5-3 on penalties. Bizarrely they play a video where a gold fish swims across the big screen...the whole crowd shout ... "woooooaaaaahhhhh FIIIIISSSSHHHHH" Football fans are universally weird and funny as ****
Think Charlton fans were doing a protest against the EFL by not turning up, something like that anyway.
The Fish thing is from way back when we used to have a defender called Mark Fish. **** knows why they still do it!
Not that I’m aware of. In years gone by, we haven’t taken these cups seriously so the fans don’t turn up. From the reports I’ve seen the attendance was just over 5.5k, of which QPR was around 2.7k, which would be about right based on previous years and also these games don’t come as part of the season ticket.
I’ve had a look round all the usual sites and can see no mention of it? Mind you, us Charlton fans are a strange lot, so anything’s possible. Most of the negative comments seem to be aimed at our new owner for not spending millions we don’t have, on new signings!
