It makes sense to Coady, as an Evertonian, but not so much to Wolves. He was their captain and a regular. Why loan him out to a rival club?
Who the feck is Fabrizio Ramano? Sounds like a sleazy Italian waiter who tries hitting on your mum when you go out for a meal. Well please be right you Italian sleazebag!
Actually, forget that - technically the same description could apply to Lascelles, so I now see the logic.
He’s not. He’s a liverpool fan. Seems a really strange move. I think if anything it’s made his chances of going to WC worse as 16 weeks of conceding goals might not look great. Good signing for Everton though, especially on loan.
Oh really? I thought he was a blue. Makes even less sense then. Unless he is going there to help relegate them with a few own goals, red cardd and conceding penalties.
Quote from him when we were going for title few seasons back. Everybody knows I supported Liverpool growing up but I’m playing for Wolves now. I look at Liverpool’s results and hope they win games – it’s as simple as that
So third Maddison bid incoming, which seems weird as again that just looks like 'trying'. Surely there's enough chat behind the scenes to either do a deal, or not?
Yeah I don't get all this public 'bidding' nonsense. Just discuss whether a deal is possible and if so on what terms. If it's not on then walk away. But don't let the world know you've made an 'offer' that got rejected.
Probably coming from Leicester's side to drum up interest. We wouldn't be bidding if we didn't have a chance so there's something in it.
I agree. You'd have to have no brain to want to sign Lascelles. IMHO we would then need a right sided CB before the window shuts, as well as a right sided attacked and centre forward.
This is an odd one. Unless they massively up their bid, it won't be happening. Were they hoping to unsettle Maddison as a way of getting him a bit cheaper? Either way, I'm unconvinced we will get him. I hope I'm wrong though!
Yeah, the telling point will be whether he submits a transfer request in the next few days to push a deal through. Otherwise it seems a pointless exercise.
Wolves go" under the radar" a bit as there's no real expectations there. Everton are always under scrutiny, so being analysed as doing well in a **** team at Everton might improve his chances. I do of course see the absurdity in my argument of saying he should go to a **** team to show off his skill.
He doesn't seem to have any attachment to Leicester, so it won't be a moral dilemma if he leaves; but we'll need to make him a seriously good offer as he's on £110k a week there and we'll need to better that. Things are a bit messy at Leicester atm, so that's the only real hope we have of dislodging him, especially if Forfarna goes to Chelsea for a huge sum.
Sesko to Leipzig is a kick in the pants! Probably why the bid for Maddison is being resurrected. While Maddison would be a good signing to cover CM and RW it'll still leave us short of a striker unless Eddie is going to re-invent Almiron as a False 9 or something equally as mental. Surely there must be a South American wonderkid who we could pickup on a decent fee who could act as cover/first team prospect up top.
We get goals from other places, Schar opened the scoring on Saturday. Second half of last season we had Wood leading the line for the vast majority of the time, and we were still 3rd in the form table.
I think it's going to be wait and see now, people blinking first. Season's started, managers haven't as much time to dedicate. We'll have a bunch of interest with players and we're probably now playing the waiting game.
Fair point and with Maddison you'd be guaranteed a few goals and assists. Think there's still a marquee signing coming in before the end of the window as well.
