Sensible people can see the line in the sand and don't cross it (oh, alright...occasionally), but some people don't realise that with free speech comes responsibility. However, there is a problem that is a modern one. In the past, you could write an acid letter and never send it. If you say something cruel you can quickly qualify it when you see the other persons face. Forums and twitter mean that you write words down that devastate the target, perhaps more than you intended.
 
An important historical figure once said 'a house divided against itself cannot stand' (was it Lincoln or Adkins?). This board is like the Southampton squad we all believe we should be in the first team but sometimes we have to accept that we are not. This means that we all have to give and take a bit.

I appreciate the work that the founders of this site have put in to keep the website going and I also appreciate the work the mods do because it is a thankless task. This does not mean I always agree with them but as I have said sometimes you have to give a little. Hopefully in turn the moderators can appease the aggrieved by being a little more lenient too, then we can all move on from whatever happened yesterday, I don't really want to know the details.

It would be a great shame if we lost some of our team members so hopefully we can move on from this, there was some outcry about a virus at one point.

Who will join me on the bus; there is plenty of space for all :-).

We were infested with a certain WUM trying to stir things up, one or two (including me) fell for it before grasping that the whole thing was a classic wind up, it was quite surprising how nasty it was getting though, very unSaintly.
 
The one linking to the 'funny' thread creating a batch file was a little silly. Maybe that is the virus one.

Some of us knew from reading the DOS language it was a simple batch file deleting windows from the c:, others have sense not to do it. Others read the comments then see not to do it but there is always someone who is foolish enough.

I've only just seen the "Anarchy" thread and must confess to being quite astounded as to some of the crap that was dished out to the Saints Mods by a couple of individuals.
I can certainly vouch for the tireless work they do in maintaining a pleasurable atmosphere for the majority of Saints fans on here.

....and to pre-empt the question; "What the feck has any of this got to do with a bloody skate mod" I would point out that the Saints and Pompey Mods are in regular contact with each other via PMs; have an excellent raport and work TOGETHER (especially where cross board threads are concerned) in ensuring the ambience of our respective boards is at a level that the majority of members wish it to be.

I missed all the childish behaviour last night as I was working but got home and all had turned bad...!

I echoed Cypruss' comments and got minority slated or it.

Let's keep it back to how it was!

Voting for mods, Jesus wept. Our three mods are probably our three most sensible posters, if not them then who else??
 
Apart from the idiots who infested the site [I know exactly who they are as I created an ignore list purely to remember them] what actually displeased me quite a bit was that one or two normally sensible posters from here appeared to join in with the idiocy, instead of merely asking them to go away, or condemning their behaviour,
 
My first comment on it...once I saw all the crap being posted on here last night I just didn't bother for the rest of the evening. I come on here because it is moderated well and we have been able to discuss Saints matters sensibly most of the time. If you wanna be immature then just piss off to the general chat.
