as posters on this board, surely we should vote for our mods? certain threads keep being deleted/closed and when people pm the mods asking why, they dont reply. it seems ok for certain posters to go off topic and have a bit of banter but when others do, it is unacceptable. DOUBLE STANDARDS.
 
What's been going on? I hope the forum wont be affected badly by this, it's a great place to come and discuss.

The mods do a great job in keeping this place running and they do it for free. Without them, we would have a rubbish forum or perhaps no forum at all. Not606 runs well thanks largely to the mods. I have no complaints at all - keep up the good work guys!
 
Being a mod is a thankless task..so I will say Thank You. As for going off thread, there may be some injustices but generally it's because some people don't know when they've crossed a line. What you can say after one too many in a pub is sometimes a bit much in print on a public forum. I am sure that somewhere not too long in the future someone will get into serious trouble on Facebook, because many posters think they are invincible and above the law (sorry went off-thread there<laugh>)

There are no double standards at all if a Thread is deleted there is usually a reason for it given with the delete. Anyone that has had dealings with me know that I have never not answered a pm and would suggest the same of the others. We do not have favorites nor do we allow one person and not another to go off subject, that is ridiculous. We do not let people abuse others either if we can help.we try to keep a balance with everything that includes things that go off topic. However there is something like 3/400 regular users of this site and when a thread goes of topic for long periods of time it is usually only a couple of people keeping it going. Unfortunately we cannot cater just for one or two we have to think of the majority.

I've just read last nights threads, unbelievable what was being said. There's no place for that kind of behaviour here. Clearly a minority of people trying in vain to ruin it for everyone else.

Glad the mods have stepped in to sort this mess. As cyprussydsafc said, it does seem like an internet forum version of the London riots!

This is exactly right. If a thread is deleted it will be pulled from main view and then will be in the moderators/Admin (Staff) sub forum where they can then take their time and discuss what to do with it. Then it will either be returned or will remain 'deleted from view'.

Last night a simple pm asking why should have been sent to the mods. Then a reply would have arrived eventually. Mods aren't paid for this. They aren't on here 24/7 At many times Mods may not be on the site for several hours so patience is in order.

What happened last night was exactly what is said above. An internet version of the London Riots. It is totally indicative of a certain section of today's society where if people aren't happy with something they ruin everything for everyone else. No concern for others at all. Just self self self.

People need to understand that life is not all about themselves and what they do even if it is just typed words on a page can afect others. Even if it is not insulting or offending others last night made me really pissed off and was a reminder of how bad modern society is getting.
 
Hopefully things are back to normal now. Beddy, Channon, Brendy, please carry on as before, the non-vocal majority support you. Thanks for your thankless work... :police:
 
Firstly I must deny that I have ever slept with Beddy, just one of the slurs posted here yesterday, it seemed to go quiet after I started to tease the said posters, I was a bit out of order, but they were easy targets. I was only trying to take the sting out of what was beginning to get a bit nasty. Now, just as a matter of clarification Joey B, are you saying the Saints Forum is at fault or the whole not 606 thing? As far as I can see this (Saints) forum has been flourishing, no doubt down to the teams success, but also because apart from some of the banter, we all get on together with many varied opinions and discussions, leaving out the personal stuff which never adds anything to the argument. There is no place for some of the purile insults, it is not intelligent or clever and 'sticks and stones' come to mind, the words cannot hurt but they can upset, for what purpose? Some ego trip perhaps, I don't know. Please let us stick to the subject of football, this is a discussion site, not twitter or any of the other social networking sites, you can vent your spleen on them, if you must. Rant over, if the perpetrators would care to apologise I would forgive them, not sure everyone will, long live not606.com especially the Saints Forum.

What went on last night was not banter, it was abuse. There appears to be several posters on here who are unable to tell the difference.
