Everton have the look and feel of a team spiralling downwards. I'd be astounded if they didn't get relegated this season....Lampard gone by Xmas
Always thought Lampard was an iffy choice - 1 year at Derby taking them from 6th to 6th, then an average spell in charge of Chelsea who only appointed him because no-one decent wanted it. Then Everton in crisis (again) take a gamble on him. The gamble eas successful but I don't see Lampard as anything other than a lower end PL manager at bestEverton have the look and feel of a team spiralling downwards. It'd be a shame as I've always preferred Everton to Liverpool and have a few Everton mates. They are a prime example of how to get things wrong - they have spent over £500m in 6 years since Moshri took over and haven't finished higher than 7th. They've gone through managers at a rate of knots (Martinez/Koeman/Allardyce/Silva/Ancelotti/Benetiz/Lampard) and the squad has been turned over and over so many times. Now they are left with Calvert-Lewin (injured) and Rondon (old) as their only strikers and their only other good player* is "unavailable" for reasons not to be mentioned in publicI see Everton as the next us!
Only worse,'cos they don't have the stadium, and to get it they're going to have to raise £700m.
If they don't get it right on the field by early October, they could eject Lampard and be in ever deeper doodoo.

I think if Lampard had stayed at Derby for a few seasons, then moved to the PL with a club like Southampton/Wolves/Villa then he could have taken the step up to Chelsea. This way round, he's started at the top (Chelsea) and failed. It's usually only one direction of travel when that happens. Hope I'm wrong as he's a decent blokeLampard left and Derby were 17th in the season Cocu came in, before Rooney arrived second half of the season and they managed 10th. He’s not as bad as people make out, I can’t be arsed to type out another long message about his managerial career so far though we’ve already spoken about it in this thread![]()
They didn't.
