I like the green travel buses and **** the prem clubs tried advertising last season.......they then fly to the other end of the earth 2 cash in off a fan base they got anus attached to.....

Hypocrisy is everywhere

Not forgetting the pop/rock stars that love to preach to us, then fly all around the world, telling us how bad we all are.

Every town and City now have these big retail parks, drive past at any time of night and they're lit up like a beacon, just imagine how much energy could be saved if they were made to switch them off.

Remember the days when shops were locally owned.......they would make sure lights were off....look after the pennies kinda thing.

Like I say it's a fking joke big corporations don't give a flying fk it's all about profits and there's the problem with capitalism right there it's fking selfishness personified

Capitalism is the human centipede of life.......I'm low in the line butthank fk im not at the back.....so luckily I'm not on benefits lol

This is part of the problem. The upfront cost and the amount of time it takes to pay back the benefits. That’s even before you account for who can afford to drop £15k on the installation.

the FIT scheme, which was the amount you got paid for exporting back to the grid has been massively slashed by the govt. so another incentive gone.

Folk need a real terms support with their energy bills right now. And whilst investing in solar / wind on a domestic level is great if you can afford it, as you mention the amount of time it takes to see any financial benefit just puts it beyond the scope of most people.

Just looked a few years ago as the feed in tariff dropped. Made payback for a system 10 years. Great if you are not planning on moving. The old traffics for feed in need to be reinstated as this brings payback to 3-5 years. Add battery storage and can be 5-7 depending on size.

This sounds amazing. Go Liz!

Ms Truss has also proposed scrapping jobs aimed at increasing inclusion and diversity in the public sector.

In addition to introducing regional pay, Ms Truss has said she would save £137m by banning union representatives from getting paid time off to focus on union work.

The foreign secretary also wants to reduce average civil service annual leave from 27 days to 25 and scrap Whitehall's diversity officers - something her team estimates could save £12m a year.

Lol

She's banning union representatives from taking the piss. The woman is already gaining legendary status.

Saff will be pleased to know that I’m involved in a campaign down here to protect dark skies.

where I live, is one of the few places left in the uk where you can see the night sky uninterrupted by light pollution.

It’s such a waste of energy and a ****ing unnecessary use to light up buildings, car parks, shops etc all night long. It also interrupts animals and humans natural sleep patterns and is just generally really antisocial imo.

anyway, down to some of the work I did down here along with others. My area has been designated a dark skies park and protected for people to enjoy and for future generations <ok>

Good on you dude...I'm one of the people who appreciate seeing the sky at night...the last time I was down your way we had some eco lodges we stayed in with some fishing lakes for my boys entertainment.....what I loved was the amount of stars on show..I sat out until the wee hours having a smoke in awe.....so for me the planet deserves respect and nothing less but its pretty impossible with the greed of capitalism pushing for maximum profit

More lights clearly haven’t worked in reducing violent crime either

It's all them poor people down there you keep telling us about, going out mugging people, I can see your game here piskie, get the lights turned off and your street urchins can operate better, wait until the police discover your campaign was nothing more than a cover for your operation down there as 21st century ***in.

I take myself off up on the moors around here and camp out for the night in my bivvy bag. Just me and the stars and the sound of the ocean in the background. Puts you right in touch with your place in the universe seeing the glory of the cosmos all laid out before your eyes.

Not enough people get to experience that imo. Because they are too busy slumped on the sofa in front of the glowy box. Or they simply live in areas where you can barely see the night sky due to so many street lights, security lights, shops and malls lit up, car parks illuminated and on and on it goes.
