Would assume it would cost a fortune for us to sell KWP as that would leave us with no right back and the season upon us. Not saying we won’t sell him/he wouldn’t kick up a fuss if a team like Chelsea came in for him, but would expect it to be 40m+ for us to consider it
KWP wouldn't be first choice there either and no prospect of being so with Reece James ahead of him. He left Tottenham to get PL football, sure he'd probably play some games. But depends how important it is to him playing every game. I do think we are at risk of losing KWP to a bigger club because he's top quality, but given our own situation at full back I don't think it will be until next summer.
Perhaps he will go to spurs next year if Spence doesn’t work out or man united if they qualify for the champions league
Would be a bad move for KWP. He wont start and it seems he isnt even their first choice back up. He left Spurs for first team football so why settle for the bench again. He would be better off waiting a year and maybe going to Spurs as a starting RB.
Fofana pushing for a move out of Leicester, Chelsea supposedly interested, removed Leicester from his Social Media Bio
Big contract, we no longer need the money so correct call. Keep for another year and if he wants to go and the money is stupid, sell him and we have Tino to replace.
Depends on the offer. £40m plus is a significant bid and our new model would be to accept and re-invest. That said, it’d significantly weaken us short term at a time I dint think we’re so far above the relegation zone so it’d be a risk!
I read that Inter need to sell players, so Dumfries may be a cheaper/easier option for them. With the new owners meaning we don't necessarily need to sell, and being this close to the season, I cant see us selling one of our best players. But nothing is a surprise in football!
If we’re even daft enough to consider selling him, then as part of the deal we should ask them to cancel the buyback arrangement for Tino.
KWP didn’t join us as a stepping stone though. He wasn’t getting first team football and took the move to play regularly. I would be quite surprised if he wanted away given we are theoretically in the cusp of something quite exciting.
Theoretically on the cusp of something or pretty much guaranteed European football every year and a much bigger wage and exposure at a club like Chelsea? Even for you Mowgli this is optimism!
