Aye that raged me that. Plus, the injury to batth was done on purpose too. Was sneak as. The ref was utterly abysmal. The Stewart pull back out on the right forward position and no foul given was horrendous.
McFadzean dropping his shoulder into Stewart’s chest while not looking at the ball went totally unnoticed as well.
Stewart was annoying me a little today. Was clear the ref wasn't having the hussle. Would of like him to be a little stronger or even Simms to be given a sniff.
Be a learning curve for a lot of our players this season like. The midfield were quite soft at times as well.
This and we certainly didn’t get the soft fouls, we didn’t even get one for the piggy back on Stewart as he broke into the box, ****ing abysmal
Do none of you think we are bodyweight light in midfield, or do you think the lightweights can carry us.?????
I thought we would have done better with Matete as a second half sub today. I know he wasn’t there but he’s difficult to boss and I wish he had been available. I also think a second player forward ie Simms with his power and pace would have helped us retain better the right end of the pitch when we were under the cosh. We just kept giving them another go at it.
That was shocking mind. Free kick fair enough but he was trying to score not hurt someone. Can an attempted shot even be an intentional foul? Ridiculous.
I think we will soon see 9 or more subs. When you can make 5 substitutions, why are you forced to compromise your selection? I think central midfield is a key area to strengthen
100%. I hate to say it because I think the lad has potential but Dan Neil shouldn’t be in that starting Xl. He’s not as good on the ball as Embleton and we need a big lad with legs in there alongside Evans and Embo.
no idea why you hate to say it, i have mentioned before (as others have) that he has the potential and the skills to progress but he has to learn how to be more involved in games...he will pull off an excellent pass then go missing for ages and that is not what you want from a man in the middle. i also think it is very much an 'age' thing as you rarely see the younger lads come through and stamp their authority in the center of the pitch, it tends to come a little later in their careers once they learn a little more, the problem is with the 'home grown' lads people do not want to sound as if they are having a go at them as some fans will stick up for them come what may...the simple fact is, the lad has talent and he has skills and the potential to be a very good footballer but he is still on a learning curve and is a wee way off the finished article. hopefully we can keep hold of him and develop him, he will get game time here but if he gets tempted by some big money move he could easily end up like another rodwell or barkley and never quite hit the heights he could do.
i hate to say it because we’ve been waiting for him to do something for a while now and it doesn’t seem to be coming. When do you bite the bullet and sign a better player on loan?
I think grabbing a players shirt should be an instant red card. Premeditated cheating. One player pulls a shirt, his opponent retaliates the same, both sent off. There is no excuse pulling another players shirt. Its not like a bad challenge where it can simply be a case of a misjudgment. Coming down hard on shirt pulling would instantly stop it from happening.
Tbh, and I get this is the transfer thread, not the Coventry game thread, I think yesterday showed absolutely what we need to survive and thrive in this division, and I reckon it’s a cm who’s quick, mobile and strong. Easy to say, harder to deliver , now let’s find one, and hope we’ve enough to get him here.
It’s just a professional foul. If you can’t catch someone and you’re going to bring them down then I’d rather someone pull my shirt than clatter my legs and risk an injury
