I used to go to the one in Anlaby, only sacked it off because I work away a lot so was paying for not much use. It’s a good gym, main area where you walk in is treadmills, bikes, cross trainer etc, back area is weights, upstairs other training machines and the class area. You can also log into the website once you are a member and can see how many people are in the gym at any one time which I think is pretty useful, especially if you are wanting to avoid busy times.
Bump. Speaking of gyms: which do you guys use in/near Hull? How much do you pay (if you don’t mind saying) and what’s included? Recommend or nah? Looking to start going again.
I'm in Lincolnshire mate, but the pure gyms have sites all over, think from.prev convos on here there is one Anlaby way on near Morrisons, but it's a good priced gym, no saunas, or swimming pools, just fitness equipment and loose weights. If you go online e though there'll be loads out there
Yeah, its on Springfield Way on the little retail park with Asda Home and M&S. My lad goes there as its 24h and suits him better.
PureGym is £19.99 and it’s no contract so can cancel whenever. If you want one with a pool then there’s Haltemprice, Village or Total Fitness but all of these are upwards of £30 a month and are usually minimum 12 month contracts.
I've used the gym/spa facilities at Cave Castle a few times (as a hotel guest) and been quite impressed. At around £50/month it looks like good value to me.
Loads of Gyms up my way(not that it's overly evident looking around the population). We've also got loads of Jim's and Jimmy's... On a more serious note my local council,North Lanarkshire, introduced an 'active 60' membership(for over 60's)earlier this year. That entitles you access to all leisure facilities, gym, fitness classes, swimming and health suites within the Council region. It's £50 a year
I pay £35 for one=years memberships at the village. I enjoy the swim/ sauna and Jacuzzi a nice reward after a workout, though the jacuzzi is too small and far too intimate(very occasionally that has its advantages). I think if I go 2/3 times per week, it is good value for money.
What kind of gym do you want.? I know someone who runs a strict boot camp type one . Or are you looking to work out at your own pace.
