think you are getting confused here piskie.

The energy companies that are making buck are those that are taking it from the ground/buying it and selling it to the retail companies who sell to us.

Your plan that will cripple the retail side probably won't do anything as:

    1. they probably already have **** loads of cashflow
    2. It's the retail side that will be affect cashflow wise. As you can see through the likes of bulb who are the retail side, they got a massive bailout from the government.

Sure, it will raise a point to the government but the big energy companies won't be crippled by the non payment.

Hell if they really wanted to, the likes of france and germany would happily accept our gas/electricity if the retail consumer doesn't want to pay for it

No confusion here Bobz. As I said in my post it will hit the energy suppliers, and if a million+ people do it, it will force them to go to Govt to tackle the real culprits here, which are the energy producers.

Also it don't help the 2 million+ households who pay by prepayment meter, and you will probably find there will be a good proportion of the poorest people amoungst them, so it's a completely hollow gesture to canx a direct debit, because they don't have one. <laugh>

Yeah, well they'll just have to sit in the dark with no heating for a month. That'll show the energy companies.

Any company is well within their rights to charge for a late payment. It's in the T&C's.

I really think this will be more harmful than helpful for those struggling the most.

Poor person, I'm not topping up my prepayment card, so I'm sitting in the dark.
Neighbour, why, have you run out of money?
Poor person, No, but there is a link going round on the internet that says I mustn't pay them.

Yep. Think of the poor kids about to have a month of eating cold beans and getting showered with cold water because of Piskie wanting to cause anarchy.

    :cheesy:

@Schlem Boogerman has a recipe for cold beans, warms them up by the pouring them on his sausages from the bbq or something. Maybe he could set up a leaflet on it and drop them down to his local food bank.

I don't normally comment on grammar, because I make my own fair share of mistakes and I'm not a pedant, but this made me chuckle because of the sentence. <ok>

It will if it affects some meaningful change.

In the meantime you’ll just have to go round to schlems for some cold beans on bread
