I’m not sure why we aren’t looking at Belotti, my only hunch is that he’s looking for spastic wages and his agent probably wants a chunk of cash too, will more than likely be his last big pay check as he’s 28.
Yeah probably £200,000 a week at least, Pepe is for sale for £25m, a large reduction but same wage issues there as well, no doubt.
I think the Draxler story is bullshit too…..it seems any players the big clubs are cutting loose automatically get linked with us cause we’re filthy rich. Depay was linked the other day, another lazy bit of journalism I suspect.
Ya Sarr for me seemed a no brainer, plays as a RW but can play across the front 3, young and still getting better. Has proven he can do it with a crap team in the PL.
As others say, the time to judge is at the end but I agree I have no idea at all how there's £30m for Ekitike, Sarr would likely cost £25m and we haven't already bought him. It's hard to understand.
It’s probably cause of how picky Howe seems.. Specific wage Certain type of personality / character Specific position Age Transfer fee Club open to sell Player actually wants to come after all that, leaves very few.
There is a lot to be said for this personality thing your right. I’ve read it in numerous articles that Howe wants a certain character. Sounds again that he doesn’t want ego’s and it’s maybe because he feels he can’t manage them.
Thankfully "sell on value" is not an issue anymore. As ****e as McClaren and Bruce were, they weren't helped by having transfers lumped on to them that they didn't want.
Or another look at is we're simply waiting to see teams get more desperate and accept bids once they overstretch themselves with ffp. Leeds make another couple then they're teetering allows us a lowball bid for Harrison. Everton make another one and they're teetering and need to cash in on DCL and Gordon. Watford want to strengthen they need to get rid of Dennis and Sarr. Chelsea must have ****ing blown there's already so will have to consider deals on Callum Hudson-Odoi and Broja. God knows how many more are like this?
This is all well and good but is a bit of a risk. We are on the verge of the season starting. If it does, we lose Bruno and say ASM and we are absolutely ****ed. Then these clubs realise we are the desperate ones. I think we should have just plonked 25m on the table for Sarr and said come on this is a good deal.
And Dennis stats are pretty good last season also. This would be 25m well spent also. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmanuel_Dennis
This is a really good point - towards the end of the window people will start getting more and more desperate. You look at some of the fee's being touted about as well. £40m for Toney, £36m for Harrison - these are ridiculous prices - it's be like us stitching up Liverpool for £75m for Carroll and Wijnaldum combined and spurs £35m for Sissoko - £110m for those 3? Cost us about £15m for the three of them combined. There will be better deals to be had at a later date so even if we didn't sign another player before the end of the window I'd be happy with what we've got and then see what happens in Jan.
For an absolute dogshit team like Watford, him getting 10 Prem goals last season was a very good return. There's no chance of him and Sarr being at Watford next season, so it's strange there hasn't been more action around them.
First they'll get desperate, then at the end they'll go raving mad like when Spurs gave us £30m for Sissoko on deadline day in 2016.
I agree/ I would be almost tempted to give them 45m for the two of them but Dennis stats are good. He got 10 goals and 6 assists in 22 starts I think.
