Not the best start to pre season but I suppose it's about fitness at this point and Utd fielded a strong team. Someone ban @Diego now.
Season over! Klopp out! Obviously preseason friendlies mean nothing... Not arsed losing even against the devil.
Looks like it’s 3 30 minute teams for us to get everyone into the swing of things. Result and performance means nothing, especially when you use 30 players in a match and none of them are even close to an actual first team.
Pre-season means diddly ****ing squat. Here it comes.... Dani Pacheco and Voronin looked world beaters in pre-season!!!
Got @Peej on the PL match thread posting every goal whilst cumming all over his own face as each one goes in.
So key takeaways for me. Philips and Williams should be nowhere near the first team. Morton is promising Elliott and Carvalho looked very sharp and could play leading roles this year. Nunez is going to get a ton of chances and is going to be a handful but he needs to finish (he will)
Verm clever from Klopp. Let United wan easily so they think they’re a decent team while also showing fsg that they need to put some more money in to get another midfielder. genius work
the only things i would say are a) it makes little sense to set up a premier 500 pound a ticket (apparently thats what the charge was) then turn up with some on 1 days training and give 3 teams 30mins and expect the people who paid to go home happy at 0-4. b) Utd must be desperate to set a tone. c) the match stats don't really say this was awful, just a standard first game for 30mins apice with very scratch teams. d) the away kit is utterly terrible in the "flesh" its actually worse than in pics.
anyway... team 1: lost 0-3 alisson Mabaya Phillips Gomez Chambers Morton Henderson Carvalho elliott firmino Diaz Team 2: (team drew 0-0) Alisson/Adrian Frauendorf Williams Matip Tsimikas Miner Bajcetic Clarkson Ox Clark Jones Team 3: (lost 0-1) Adrian Trent Konate VVD Robertson Keita Fabinho thiago salah Nunez Hill Clearly herr klopp got it badly wrong with the orde rof the teams as he should have seen off utd's early steam with the first team (team 3) and then let what would happen happen. It sounds like peopel likes the look of carvalho and my prediction of Mabaya as one to watch wasn't too bad. Morton was talked up by klopp so good to hear he wasn't awful
I only watched about 40 minutes and I didn't see Nunez come on so can't comment on his performance but I agree with all your assessments here. Phillips did a job when we needed him in that Covid season but I don't think is really up to the standard long term. Williams has never shown anything. Good kid with a great attitude but so slow and I can't see him improving in that area, you just can't coach speed.
