Nadhim Zahawi came to the UK from Iraq at the age of 11. He's almost certainly a terrorist.

Surely he should be sent to Rwanda?

But more seriously he denies the published rumours that he is being investigated for financial dealings.

Now it seems that the leaked uber files name Gove, Osborne, Boris and a few others in being "favourable " to uber after a series of meetings

Things are still very murky in the blue seas of Torydom

Tories tearing themselves to bits, so Labour decides to unite them by calling a vote of no confidence.

I might be missing something but this seems a particularly dumb and pointless tactic. We all know what the result will be. Can someone explain the thinking to me?

I think it is simply ...a case of
"Hi... excuse me...we are still here"

A vacuum occupying an empty space. Essentially they are calling for a general election but only yesterday Starmer was refusing to provide any potential policy details because ‘we are too far from an election’.

I guess the point is to draw attention to the fact that all of these people were aware of Johnson's lies all along, but were prepared to back him nonetheless. A confidence vote forces them to do so again and may be used against them in future.

Wasn’t it Napoleon who said you should never interrupt your enemy whilst they’re making a mistake? The only possible outcome of such a move is to galvanise the Tories.

Rather than specific policies for a GE, I’d appreciate it if all the parties reminded us what their core values are. For example, what are ‘Conservative Values’ today? Likewise Labour? It will be fun watching the Liberals trying to work out what’s the point of them other than to provide a home for protest votes.

I think the honest response would be ‘what do you want our core values to be to make you vote for us’ in all cases.
it’s very much a niche parliamentarian game though, isn’t it? Most of the electorate (including me) won’t listen to the arguments, they’ll just see a big win for the government. The only thing that occurs to me is that they think a few Tory Red Wall MPs may defect in fear of losing their seats by staying Tory, and this vote provides a vehicle for that.

Enjoy the cricket and tell Ninesy to put a hat on.

There's a saying (possibly by Napolean :emoticon-0100-smile), that the LibDems are a pot for voters to spit into between elections

Yeah, and that’s the problem. I have a set of very strong principles but, if you don’t like them, I’ve got other ones.

Don’t think Labour can really ‘lose’ with this. It puts individual Tory MPs in a tough spot given everything that has happened over the last couple of weeks and keeps the carnage in the news rather than these endless campaign videos to get Ready4Rishi etc. which can be no bad thing.

Johnson has blocked it anyway so make of that what you will.
