There’s also a lad called CarbonGerman who says Ravel Morrison to join within the next week, personally don’t see it and tbf the lad is only passing on what he’s heard from someone who apparently works with at the club
Hope this one isnt true, probably the only player we've been linked with that I dont want us to sign. If he did I would trust our recruitment team as they've not got much wrong since coming in
Someone on twitter saying the fee agreed is with Huddersfield. Could be bollocks and hope it is us.
I think its good to see the kind of names we're being linked to as well. Young lads where we can add value. The change in approach over the couple of transfer windows since KLD came in has been really refreshing to see, no longer picking up crap that nobody else is keen on for free and the way back down in their careers.
We'll miss out on some along the way and get a couple wrong too, but you have to commend that its far more exciting and interesting this way!

Presumably the links to Morrison and Rudoni are for the same position. I'd guess it's one or the other rather than both. Personally, I'd rather see us take the gamble on Rudoni.
It's getting to that time now where you start to worry a bit about transfers. Ideally, you want players in for the start of the new season but it's not realistic. We have to be patient and wait. That probably means that our team for this season doesn't start to take shape until we're 6 games in.

I agree. I know we’ll sort it but our forward options currently aren’t good at all. We’re desperate for more quality up top
I was told by someone, and @Prehab26 will maybe be able to back it up, that Rudoni will sign once we negotiated the right fee.

It's the same old dilemma though isn't it? Do you get in someone now because they're available or wait for someone better who will be available in a month once certain Premier League teams sign their replacements?
Ideally though, we can get a second striker in before the season starts and then we can afford to be more patient for the third.
You’re bang on. It’s frustrating but patience is key. Last summer was worrying early doors but in the end we came out of the window very well…
Exactly, always better waiting for the right player than bringing in a player early just for the sake of it. We already have a strong starting line up for the season starting, just need to improve our depth in certain positions.
Neil aluded to that in his post match comments last night, waiting for the right deal on the right player rather than getting overly excited or hurried and making poor choices.
Yeah which is great to hear, too often in the past we have focused on getting players in early because they are free. Now we have a plan and its so refreshing, cant remember the last time I was this excited about the club

There are exceptions, but generally coaches want to give them time to get to know their new teammates and the way we play. Pre season is part of it, but not all. The real competitive games are a bigger part. Lets say we sign Rudoni, do we think he is a starter in game 1? I dont. I think our starting 11 are pretty much here, and in all likelihood Neil is giving the lads that went 15 unbeaten and got promoted the first few games anyway. That is how trust is built as a coach. Therefore I think we can afford to wait for the right players, because they will be coming into the squad, not the 11. Just my opinion.

To be fair I think after his injury he just needs game time to get his physicality but I don't think we should be loaning him out as I think he will thrive in championship. Don't forget that Jack Clark is also very lightweight when it comes to sticking the boot in but his skill more than makes up for that and if he can get more game time and add a bit of muscle then both these players could be exceptional for us they just need some first team football to develop
I was thinking about Dan Neil yesterday. I was at a pre-season friendly and there was a trialist playing who reminded me of Dan a bit. Always on the half turn, lovely passer, great vision and can drop the shoulder and beat a man. This lad played high up the pitch but as coaches we asked him to play much deeper second half. He struggled a bit, because he didnt have the positional sense out of possession, but he would take the ball of the back 4 and got us playing more in our own half, which in turn got the opposition turned much sooner.
I wonder if Alex fancies Neil in there this season. I noticed Dan on the weights over the summer so we might see a physically stronger player. If we play a 4231, or 433 it may be he develops into that sort of deep lying playmaker with licence to go forward. Gundogan is master at it, but he can do the physical stuff as well. I would like to hope Alex is working closely with Dan on a plan like this, which would mean we dont need that signing alongside Evans. As exciting as signing new players is, Dan Neil is still the lad I want to see shine more than anyone.
