Javid and Sunak shafting themselves re future leadership bid.

Raab stays loyal, which means he'll run as soon as there's a vacancy

That makes absolutely no sense. Loyalty is one thing, loyalty to a big problem who is getting booted is just sees you go down on the ship.

He who wields the knife shall never wear the crown.
This mob got the crown from a Christmas cracker. A cheap one at that. It could be that Sunak and Javid just couldn’t stand the constant lying, the shame and embarrassment any more. I doubt that will trouble Raab, Patel, Rees Mogg or Truss, or, god forbid, Dorries. They don’t have the requisite shame glands.

If Johnson has lost even more back benchers as seems likely, some kind of leadership contest or even a general election has to happen. Wouldn’t it be a hoot if Starmer has to resign as well?

I’m voting for Johnny Bairstow whatever.

Yeah, I was thinking it would entertaining if Starmer had to go too.

Incredible irony if Starmer has to resign.

Boris is a polar bear clinging onto a melting iceberg. He needs to slip into the sea.

No one ever voted for Boris for his attention to detail or disciplinary skills. It's his lack of the latter that has done for him.

He’s just a ****ing liar and his colleagues have had enough of him. This latest fiasco was clearly a final straw. Of course it will be claimed that the electorate ‘factor in’ his behaviour, just like they did with Trump……who lost (in the real world if not in his own head).

Did you see him being interviewed by the new Laura Keunssberg (can’t remember his name)? He was genuinely bewildered. He can’t even do a half decent impression of penitence. I don’t think he understands why people care about this kind of stuff. He has something missing from his psyche. To be fair he has never hidden, or been able to hide, this.

Weird scenes inside the goldmine.

I agree about Johnson's dishonesty, but we've seen that before. Blair was never straightforward. But he ran an efficient, disciplined ship. Boris's disorganised style has led to him having to jump from one crisis to another recently, and being economical with the truth to try and get himself out of it.
