Truly brilliant. Adel in that season will live on in my memory forever. I will always be a huge fan because of it.
I still have the poster in my scrapbook. Besotted with several players in that team. Tony Hazzell, Mike Keen, Morgan twins, Frank Sibley...and of course Rodneeeee
https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/forever-rs-club-minutes-may-2022/ Minutes from the Forever Rs. Faurlin to be inducted in the early part of this season. Warnock at some point in the year too. Nygaard getting an induction for some reason! A few players I don't recognise who I presume were a little before my time.
Was with the club for years but hardly played. Stand in CB and sometimes CF, played in our famous away win at Derby, the champions, in the 75/76 season, had huge shoulders, looked like he had an oversized coat hanger in his shirt. In those days of one sub, who was only really used for injuries, it was really hard to get a game. Just a cult figure for me and my Dad.
It seems to me that the bar to be inducted into the Hall of Fame is pretty low. It appears that you only really need to have worn the shirt once, in which case I’m looking forward to my invitation. It’s a little like Glenn Medeiros being inducted into the Rock & Roll equivalent. At the very least there should’ve been a number of games qualification, or having been part of a squad that achieved something. I’d like the club to be a little more exclusive, but it’s only for fun, I guess. (The Road to ‘76 book would be of interest; shame they wouldn’t provide funding for it)
Went to school with his cousin Susan, who was a inside forward in our school and county hockey team. He came to watch us in a county match. He was gorgeous
A blast from the distant past at the White City and we manage to squander an early lead before missing a penalty and then losing against 10 men finishing with a fan running on and taking on all comers. Seems vaguely familiar...
