Manchester
I live in Manchester, so I’m looking at the games nearest me, I’m looking at trains to get there, fancy a few pints <cheers>, but ruling out the midweek games at Burnley & Blackpool as I can’t be arsed to rush to the train station & try & get home before the last trams. Likewise Wigan on NY day, but I’ll be working anyway so can’t go.
So I’m thinking Preston away, I’ve not been there, is it difficult to get to from the station?
Huddersfield & Blackburn appeal also.
What’s the situation with pubs too, can anyone help with info please.

deepdale is about half an hours walk from the station- easy really with google on your phone
I find Deepdale very easy to get to but then again, I do live in Preston.

If you have time, divert to the Moorbrook. It's across the park from Deepdale. I don't drink so I have never been in. It looks a dump but I am told it serves very good beer.

Is it ok for away fans?

Wonder when we are going to catch up with other countries and have trams and public transport running late?

I've messaged someone who knows. His reply was 'Absolutely, I will probably be in there anyway'.

Don't hold me to it!
My man has just sent me another message saying the pub will be full of North End fans who will know what time to leave.

Perhaps not then!

Few years ago at the IOM TT we were camped next to some really sound German lads from Dortmund, they were saying that when you bought a ticket to a game** you could present the match ticket on any bus/train/tram going to the stadium without paying any fare.

**Not sure if that's for every team but it's definitely the case in Dortmund.

I believe it is a general thing in Germany for local transport. I know a lad who spends half the year in Valencia. Games sometimes don’t finish until midnight and you can get transport into the city where places are open for another 2, 3 or more hours.

You get a discount on the Metro if you are a Newcastle season ticket holder.

It's like that in Norwich apparently.

Before last years Preston game we went to St. Gregorys Club.it is fairly close to the away end so there were plenty of City fans in there. We will probably be in there again this season.
