That would be amazing, but I assume if he is running his contract down that bigger clubs than us will be in for him
We won’t be paying his salary to someone to be backup in two positions. He is on similar to Romeu - but older. So we would be extending Romeu rather than signing him
All of those have something to offer. They may decide they'll get more game time elsewhere which is fair enough but they should not be written off too quickly. There is no guarantee replacements would be better.
You’ve just brought home to me how ridiculous these sums are Got used to 100m, feels different when you realise it’s actually £100,000,000! We’ve had a €200,000,000 player, how long before the first €1,000,000,000 player? Wasn’t Lineker the first 1m player?
It’s a slow news day so... Transfer records (Equivalent value today) 1893 £100 (£10,000) 1904 £1,000 (£100,000) 1922 £5,000 1928 £10,000 (£700,000) 1952 £50,000 1961 £100,000 (£2.5m) 1963 £250,000 1968 £500,000 1975 £1,000,000 (£10m) 1984 £5,000,000 1992 £10,000,000 (£22m) 1996 £15,000,000 1999 £30,000,000 2009 £50,000,000 2013 £100,000,000 2017 £190,000,000
Not overly bothered about signing him tbh but that is solely down to my prejudice against super tall players
This is a recycled link. Apparently he is also wanted by Bayern. I guess with us he would know that if he plays well for 2 years we will definitely sell him to Bayern If Bayern are truly linked then I imagine the Lewandowski situation needs to be resolved first
The only reason that we remotely have a chance of signing him is the fact that he and Ralph are both Austrian. I checked his Youtube video and he is the type of player I would love us to sign, great in the air and a good finisher with a good technique but I can't see it personally.
