Sunderland AFC today announced the departure of Alex Neil as Head Coach.
The 41-year-old, who arrived at the Stadium of Light in February 2022, has left the club with immediate effect.
Neil guided SAFC to 10 wins in 18 games, including the club’s first victory in a Play Off Final at Wembley Stadium
The process to appoint a new Head Coach will commence immediately and a further update regarding the club’s interim coaching set-up will be communicated shortly. Previous applicants need not apply. Including you Roy!
Yes please!I'm going to change my prediction to a new contract for Alex Neil or Ross Stewart. Not one of the ones we are waiting to hear about.
It’s a weird one. The biggest contract announcement we can do is a new deal for Stewart, I reckon.Just can't see it being a signing (other than Roberts or Wright). Would be extremely rare to the point of "never happens" for the club to announce somebody that hasn't leaked in the hours leading up to it.
Last time they teased us like this, we signed Phil "****ing" BabbWhatever it is, the club clearly think fans will like it. otherwise they wouldn't give it this tease.
