Look Joe Ralls is playing a dangerous game by not signing, and in my opinion he to me as been a average player for a few years with just the odd good game,in the past he has been a good servant to the club but i think it is time to move on,save on his wages and get someone in to cover that position.with the money saved i think we could do a lot better .

Good point William but we also need some experience in the team with all these new signings. If Ramsey comes then that could fill the gap.

I guess in many respects he's been the best of a poor bunch. Certainly nothing more than that. At the end of the day if he ain't happy with what's on the table then he's not going to be much use anyway.
Don't want to accuse him if holding the club to ransom as I don't know the full circumstances.

In fairness to him I think he has played when not fully fit as his presence was needed. As a result his form suffered.

If fit and with a stronger group around him the he could continue to be an asset.

If Ramsey returns, still a big If, he is a bit fragile as well so Ralls would share duties with him.

However, is Ralls holding out for a better offer or is he still on holiday and will sign on his return? Who knows?

I see the Jacks have returned to start pre-season, have we? If so that puts a different complexion on Ralls position.

My sentiments exactly clingo. Proven City battler whose enthusiasm sometimes exceeds his ability.

Contract wages are obviously important to individual players and rightly so, but we need players who want to be here for other reasons not just money.

Apparently he's not the sharpest tool in the box and I'm a bit concerend his agent could be the driving force behind his "non decision" position on the pretext that he could find something out there more luctative for him.

Due to start on Wednesday - and apparently Ralls won't be allowed to attend as his current contract runs out next week

Wednesday, so technically he should train.

Id have him in the squad for his experience. Possibly captain.

Hope Morison has given him a date when the offer expires so he has time to get a replacement.

The more I think about it and the longer it goes on, the more I'm in agreement with Sparkey and that this piece of brinkmanship is being orchestrated by some grubby agent.

I can't see Morison waiting around for a response for too much longer.

If Ralls' agent IS delaying to see if any more cash is put on the table or a better offer comes from elsewhere it could end up being rather detrimental for Joe.
Conceivably we could end up with a scenario whereby the club bring someone else in as replacement and withdraw the current offer...

Granted he'd be free to go speak to anyone else but if he's then clubless, any interested parties are in the driving seat as they know he has no guaranteed income coming in....

Personally I'd like him to stay. He's a bit like a budget Mark Noble for me... Someone who undoubtedly gets the club and fans having been through thick and thin with us over the years...
Be nice to see a one club man from within our ranks.
