Earlier start this year cos of WC. First week of August I think?
Looking forward to planning my away trips.
I like the nation's league but the timing of these matches in a WC year was dreadful.
They need to just replace the Euros qualifying with it completely as it's pointless doing both.
Not really seemed like a 1 week gap and only for some. Can't really remember though. I'm wondering if they'll do a proper one of the season goes well.
Possibly but I think they'll be happy with what they've got. Don't see them wanting to implement a further break in November and losing the Christmas schedule is out of the question.
I hope it doesn't happen but some managers will point to the changes made for the WC and start pushing for a proper Winter Break.

Everyone got a week off, but they were staggered so the games could just keep coming for TV.
Boxing day matches are the first ones back after the world cup apparently. Championship restarts mid December.
Imo what they should do is play it over a 2/3/4 year period or whatever…as in play friendlies for that amount of time. Play with whoever you wish across the continents Have tables based on continent…After the allotted time span for the games let’s see who’s sat on top.
there are 6 UEFA continental zones
so I would do winners of each zonal group plus 2 best runners up throughout the zones.
that’s 8 teams
mini knockout tournament played over a week or 2 during the summer

the time span creates prestige…current format is bollocks and gives off a very fake feeling to me
only issue is cross continental fixtures…when do they happen? will they happen anymore?
a minor flaw maybe but a bit more brain cell crunching and I’m sure there’s a decent solution for that too.

just have one big fck off table for the whole world…every 3 years the top 8 play a mini knockout tournament…that’d be exciting and some would call it the real World Cup eventually

Always look at first home game, last home and if home/away Boxing Day. They are the best games
I always clock the last 4 fixtures incase we are in with a shout for the title
