Root is in a different class, and it seems the relinquishment of the captaincy has freed his mind to concentrate on his batting. Great credit to Pope, he batted beautifully. Less so for Stokes, who seemed to go gung ho with the bat after a good start, which was rather reckless, considering we were still 150 odd behind at that stage. Hopefully can get close to parity.
